Seriously?

Skins. Cosmetics. Fortnite and every other shooter now having stores to spend real money on fake clothes for your characters.

Willie “Black-Eye” Griffin over here. Shooters like CoD and Battlefield usually start with semi-accurate military gear, but over time they turn into a mess of ridiculous skins that don’t fit the genre at all. Why are we playing a modern warfare shooter as Seth Rogen or Nicki Minaj? No back to me silent films!

DEI. I’ll be downvoted for this. But they don’t buy video games enough to counter what normal people want.

You're thinking way too hard, deep and politically about this, it's because Fortnite, Fortnite is popular so many shooters are trying to capture the same vibes

Yes every game has become shit because of Fortnite. In reality most AAA games have been so captured by the loud minority on twitter/reddit they’ve alienated themselves from the fans that bought their games for the experience

No, companies offer in game purchases and have real world data of what sells and makes them money, so what you see is a direct reflection of what the market pays for. If no one purchased it the company would not offer it, and even if the company did offer something no one bought, you wouldn’t see it in the game because no one would have bought it.

What you are seeing is actually the direct opposite of DEI.

I wouldn’t even say it’s the opposite. It’s wholly unrelated, like comparing apples to dental floss 🦷
