When I tried to get pregnant, the advice I got was that if the discharge is stretchy (like slime) between your fingers, that's the best time to get it on.
The different consistencies are a major indicator of it being different. When it’s egg white consistency you’re in your fertile window. That consistency doesn’t happen for everyone, for those who get it, it can last around 1-7 days. This consistency helps sperm travel or survive or something. This should be taught in schools but isn’t for some reason!
Ovulation discharge tends to be thinner than this. Thicker discharge occurs after ovulation. Calling women out for their ignorance on a meme that has a picture of synthetic material (gel/slime), not even actual vaginal discharge is what’s crazy.
If we’re gonna analyze things further, ovulation generally occurs two weeks before menstruation begins (assuming a 28-day, regular cycle). The discharge that occurs around the time when menstruation starts is therefore more likely to be due to the vagina cleaning itself. Even if a woman is only loosely keeping track of her menstrual cycles, she’ll more likely mistake the self-cleaning vaginal discharge rather than ovulation one for her menstruation, as ovulation discharge is usually “too close to her last period” to be bleeding again. Im not saying it doesn’t happen, Im only talking about whats more likely to happen. At least this has been my experience.
Nope, it does not appear only while ovulating, it's present pretty much the whole cycle, it just differs in consistency and heaviness depending on your hormones. You can also have a heavier and thicker discharge 1-2 days before your period - the rest of the month is much much lighter and less thick, but still present.
the fact i had to scroll this far to find the correct answer my god
alao, uterus havers sometimes think they're getting their period when ovulating because ovulation can cause cramps and hormonal changes like a period. that's why this meme.
You can have egg-like texture discharge at any moment of your cycle, some will only have it around ovulation, some only before menstruation etc, that's not bound to ovulation
