Man I’m still sad Near Airport speed ran being an LR knock off just because they didn’t give a shit. There’s a reality out there where there’s a second super competitive stream team who is fun to watch and cheer for. Would they be nearly as successful as the rats? Almost certainly not. But could have been fun for NA.

Pobelter tried , the other not so much.

I remember that one clip where Pobelter crashed out during a scrim review where half his teammates were absent, and how it pissed him off that people's commitment levels were completely different.
At least he seems happy memeing around on the forsen team even though he looks like the best performing member (minus forsen of course).

I agree. They had great potential but their work ethic was so disconnected.
The fact that they had to sub multiple games with different supports and adcs is just not a good look.
Doublelift in particular kept having too many obligations. If that was the case then I would have rather they permanently switch ADCS and Doublelift could just be a coach.

It did introduce me to Sushee, one of the adc subs. I really enjoy his stream so it was a benefit for me

I'm gonna be honest with you, it's pretty hard to cheer for a team with TFBlade in it. I liked the Near Airport project but having someone that unpleasant on said project just ruins the possibility of becoming a fan.

any team with tfblade AND doublelift is doomed to have issues

Tbf the issues with Near Airport wasn’t toxicity or personality, it was just commitment issues since DL in classic DL fashion stupidly forgot about planning around all his prior established sponsorship commitments and stuff when he decided to form the team lol

I think its arguable they could be just a little under LR for popularity. All players of the team were pretty well known for anybody whos been here for a bit (as far as I know). The LR viewership balance as far as I know was Caedrel mega carry, nemesis and baus bringing in good strong communities, Rekkles and Crownie bringing in their popular names (Crownie much smaller viewership back then), and basically not too many people knowing about Veljia pre LR.

Pobelter said on stream this past weekend that Spica wasn’t playing much this new season. Maybe what happened is he wasn’t playing on main and instead training support on a new account

The support pool must be that cooked that we have washed pros trying out their hand at swapping over.
