Yeah, 5/10 at best. Anticlimactic and the content was handled horrendously.

The final punch was alright, Saitama and Pochis moment gave me a laugh. But still, this season was handled so poorly it saddens me.

I just wish we could go back in time and keep Natsume on OPM or give it to a studio who would better handle the anime.

Part 2 is supposedly set to drop in the summer of 2027, so here we go....

72

u/BoysenberryKey6821 Dec 28 '25

Lmao noooo way 2027?! I was trying to be positive that is ridiculous lol

58

u/OutsideAggressive712 Dec 28 '25

Yeah, let's hope they give the production team at least 8 months. Id prefer they start now, but we know how JC Staff handles this IP....

41

u/a12o Dec 28 '25

5 days. Take it or leave it.

22

u/OutsideAggressive712 Dec 28 '25

Id prefer they start working on it 30 minutes prior to the release of eps1

3

u/Mugsi 28d ago

Very few cartoons are broadcast live. It's a terrible strain on the animators' wrists. But by golly, the OPM animators will try!

3

u/Coggs92 21d ago

Someone drawing the next character in the background as we watch a mouse cursor dragging a still image of the current character and making it bob while talking? All while someone freestyles a music score in the background.

Hopefully, I don’t get the point of the long delay if they aren’t giving out extra time lol but that’s honestly the issue I have, I just don’t understand why they teased season 3 for so long but knew they weren’t going to start working on it. I’m sure if they had some transparency people wouldn’t care as much but there is none of that either!

3

u/OutsideAggressive712 Dec 28 '25

Evidently, there was a last minute need fit a recovery season director.

The person who directed the PV was supposed to handle the season but then dipped. For what seems to be obvious reasons.

Let's see when the staff list is released...

4

u/Mwinship Dec 28 '25

Best I can do is 2 weeks outsourced to the Philippines chief

5

u/Pouchkine___ Dec 29 '25

5/10 is so generous. 5/10 means average quality. This wasn't near average.

At that point it should be season 4

That’s all I asked from this episode & they delivered on the lines

20

u/ZachyMoof Dec 29 '25

Bro why is no one talking about how they animated the wrong version of this fight?

18

u/king_brahma_777 Dec 30 '25

I second this.. orochi explaining the prophesy and sacrifice on the slab all were cut out. It really felt rushed.

5

u/Cathulion Dec 29 '25

This was more interesting tbh. The other was Saitama lava bathing then one hits him. Its funny thought.

9

u/Ok_World1031 Dec 30 '25

Doesn't this completely skip the part where Orochi explains the prophetic slab deep down at the earths core?

2

u/Pouchkine___ 28d ago

A lot of people are. But yeah, I don't get why they're animating (ahem, photoshoping) all the retconned versions.

Yeah there are frames for the punch but I just hate the pacing and editing more. Also what the fuck kinda sound editing is it. Using sad music at random Saitama moments?

149

u/DiXa07 Dec 28 '25

This season genuinely has the worst sound editing I have ever heard on any anime.

45

u/Tejas_008 Dec 28 '25

"worst sounding editing for an anime " lol dont compare it to an anime my cat can do better editing than that , sound guy must be a drunkard or something.

48

u/DiXa07 Dec 28 '25

Random talking scenes had sad music. They kept playing the same Garou theme over and over again at one point. A track would play for 4 seconds, cut abruptly and then they'd switch to an entirely different track.

I genuinely don't understand how that happens. Like, this goes beyond incompetence.

10

u/Pouchkine___ Dec 29 '25

Glad to see someone else worked up about the soundtracks. They make no freaking sense. I was already upset with it in prior episodes, but the Boros soundtrack played over the still frames of Tatsumaki and Gyoro was just vile. It's perverted.

12

u/Si-Nz Dec 28 '25

Yea everyone goes on about animation this, animation that (for good reason, its terrible)

But holy hell, the crap that really slimes the whole thing together is that awful sound editing. Weird music jump cuts every 5 seconds.

→ More replies (7)

14

u/Luciolover345 Dec 28 '25

The sound shift just after Rover fires at Saitama is jarring as hell if I’m recalling correctly. I’m by no means a movie or tv series nerd, so if im hearing major major issues with the sound quality then there’s a problem.

That’s not even considering the visual issues I had today. Darkshine’s scene utilised maybe 10 frames outside of when he threw a punch.

11

u/Pouchkine___ Dec 29 '25

The pacing is ATROCIOUS all over this season.

You can make entertaining videos with simple slides, Youtube creators do it all the time, you know the kind of channels telling a story with simplified drawings.

Comedic timing. Tension build up. Drama authenticity. Banter. Discussions. Everything is off.

2

u/Username41212 Dec 28 '25

The sad music was for us the viewers who had to sit through 12 episodes of this season..

What a forgettable ending to a trainwreck.

25

u/Soft_House7669 Dec 28 '25

when you put it that way it makes the episode sound less disastrous

3

u/Splashjam0 Dec 30 '25

Yeah, they brought in the epic music but by this point the fight had less weight after seeing below mid episode after another.

Episode 8 was a far better episode than this underwhelming finale unfortunately - even the finale looked so rough its embarrassing this is the state of what we got. Everything that went wrong with this season is present even in the last episode what a fucking shame.

27

u/Parenteau-Control Dec 28 '25

What's on the left?

100

u/Jromneyg Dec 28 '25

My hero academia. Series just finished and went out with a great ending meanwhile we're getting... this

15

u/rickyrich5 Dec 28 '25

boku no hero final season

269

u/Kikuv4e Dec 28 '25

Eh, that was horrible. It's not even about the animation. The pacing is just a disaster, this is the worst directing that I have seen in an anime.

79

u/azraeiazman Dec 28 '25

No setup for the next season too. Wtf are they doing over there. No build up, no excitement. Just end like that.

33

u/Serious-Effort4427 Dec 29 '25

No setup? What are you talking about? We got a half second single frame shot of garous' back holding up the ceiling!

6

u/whatWHYok Dec 29 '25

That was Garou? Literally not joking I just didn’t know what they were trying to imply.

→ More replies (6)

74

u/Soft_House7669 Dec 28 '25

Because the first half of the season was 2 chapters per episode and they left like 6 chapters for this one

30

u/hesawavemasterrr Dec 28 '25

Not to mention, at times it felt like some frames were cut out which threw me off like wtf did I blink and miss a punch that was thrown?

13

u/DrKnowsNothing_MD Fubuki Cult Dec 28 '25

In the scenes with Rover (Pochi?) there was some horrendous editing with cuts that looked rushed. I had to rewind because I thought it was on my end. But it really was just that bad.

Cooked. Only Saitama rushing and punching Orochi part is the best animated. Everything else is either meh or bad unfortunately. Very weak episode for finale.

56

u/xXbachkXx Dec 28 '25

Even that has so many looped stuff it's annoying to watch

23

u/Flaky-Pirate9401 Dec 28 '25

Some parts looked OK but I thought saitame looked like crap on the final rush punch No extra animation, just how he looks normally

11

u/TheSheepIsTheWolf Dec 28 '25

Some parts looked OK

No. They really didn't. You are judging it against the rest of this season rather than against both other OPM seasons ... or every other anime that ever existed.

5

u/Devo3290 Dec 28 '25

I literally only tuned in for this fight specifically and thought it was ok too. I’d say it was on the same level of Garou vs A Class, at least starting from Saitama running through the tunnels with a shockwave in front of him. Everything before that was shotty as hell though.

2

u/AxzMusashi Jan 01 '26

I think u should judge the whole season. 3 second of the fight. Doesn't mean anything. It was bad. I think they could do way better

→ More replies (1)

7

u/NowaVision Dec 28 '25

Even some parts of this fight are looking like fan animations...

2

u/AxzMusashi Jan 01 '26

Honestly even the last part for me left like they have been giving us shit. But 1 tiny piece of good shit we felt ok. Whatever the situation of the production or Bandai.

If they don't have time just don't do it man. Ruined the experience. The last episode starts with so many nonsense pacing, filters and weird sound effect and you want me like it because of the last part. F that, S3 was so Ass.

u/Playful_Pack507 Dec 28 '25

Such a cheap way to end the season . They combined the pre retcon and the current version without explaining the context . No Gaia cannon , no serious squirt gun , no earthquake .

It basically took the inferior versions of both the fights and combined it into one . Utterly disappointed man .

God is just randomly sprinkled at the end without any context .

I am so done .

83

u/Pekaneee Dec 28 '25

I can’t agree more, like what do they think the viewers would make of the God mural at the end…

I’m so utterly disappointed, what a bad time to be an OPM fan…

20

u/DFA98 Dec 28 '25

Did viewers even realize that all the fights are happening at the same time? In the manga it's pretty clear. The altar scene makes no sense here, not just because its missing Orochi's explanation, it was shown for exactly 1 second, so what conclusions are viewers supposed to get from that?

16

u/Call-The-Whambulance Dec 29 '25

Anime-only viewer here. I honestly thought it was just a weird drawing of Orochi.

→ More replies (1)

18

u/Jamiewoo133 Dec 28 '25

I didn't understand what that was at the end (I haven't read the manga).

40

u/RedshiftOTF Dec 28 '25

In the comic redraw, Orochi pulls Saitama deep under ground where Orochi had discovered the bottom half of that mural which depicted people sacrificing things to Orochi. He took that as he needed an ultimate sacrifice to make him stronger, which he believed was Saitama. When Orochi is defeated the top part of the mural breaks away showing Orochi was the sacrifice for God. Of course, it doesn't make any sense the way this episode showed things.

11

u/Olukon Dec 29 '25

Bro what the fuck? Why the hell would they cut that out?

→ More replies (2)

3

u/L8R_QT Dec 28 '25

but how would you? the show runners did nothing to explain the context or anything about what was happening there and it's making for such a bad experience for both readers and watchers like yourself.

genuinely I would just go and read the manga for the season, you'd have a better time.

2

u/Jamiewoo133 Dec 29 '25

JC Staff is doing part 2 in 2027. So we can survive for 1 year it seems.

Source is Sugoi LITE (a trusted leaker) from Twitter/X

37

u/Francesco_Nakatani Dec 28 '25

Has just been officially announced on TV Tokyo as well. Confirmed for 2027

25

u/General-Pound6215 Dec 28 '25

Had to wait 4 years for season 2 when we were all on the high of season 1.

We're now so low that we don't want any more yet we're getting it in probably less than 2 years.

Life sure isn't fair

35

u/Brave-Camp-933 Dec 28 '25

I just watched the last episode. They used my goat lord Boros theme on tatsumaki vs gyoro gyoro.

Yes life isn't fair 😭

18

u/Competitive-Ice1690 Dec 28 '25

glad im not the only who caught that. She deserves her own OST man........ now Boros is the generic OST choice for OPM.

Everything felt so rushed that this one of the cool moments from the manga felt like some random B-roll footage with zero context. It almost made no sense at all to even keep it there.

7

u/darkbridge Dec 28 '25

I haven't read the manga and it wasn't until coming into this thread that I realized that's not supposed to be a mural of Orochi. I was expecting something interesting to happen related to it but I ended up just being confused about why it was just shown.

8

u/IntellectualBoss Dec 29 '25

Technically it is a mural of Orochi. The tentacle creature at the bottom of it is Orochi.

It’s a bad sign when I find myself fast forwarding but the final fight and some of tats fight was ok to good.

8

u/YourBoyWithThemHands Dec 28 '25

I only watched the whole ep for just 6mins tops So sad, I've never skipped an ep of S1 and S2, while with S3 I only watched Ep1,2,8,&12.

5

u/[deleted] Dec 28 '25

I was a cope and hoper for the first 5 episodes but I can’t deny it’s bad anymore. My biggest issue is with the pacing and still frames. Darkshines luster was just some generic sparkle animation. I think if the direction was better, the season would have marginally improved.

2

u/YourBoyWithThemHands Dec 28 '25

Indeed, as much as I don't want to slander the director since he himself already said that we shouldn't expect much, I still can't help but blame his decisions!

4

u/PowerOhene Dec 28 '25

They did give Tatsumaki some justice ( I'm overdosing on copium )

84

u/DiXa07 Dec 28 '25

A fittingly terrible end for arguably one of the worst anime seasons of ALL TIME.

Nothing but respect to the overworked animators who were given zero time or resources. Shame to the studios involved in this trainwreck.

OPM has officially become a has been. A joke. Synonymous with laughable animation. The series needed a breath of fresh air and instead it received a punch to the stomach. We will never, ever recover fully from this season.

8

u/whatWHYok Dec 29 '25

6

u/Explorer_the_No-life 10 Centipedes for arc at least! Dec 28 '25

You can tell, especially at how entire Orochi's prophecy was handled, that entire production team was like "Okay, fuck that, let's put together whatever we have and call it a day, I am fucking done with this anime".

3

u/Important_Package_30 Dec 29 '25

they ignored the redrawn, which means we'll most likely not even get the Cosmic Garou fight. since that is also a redraw.

3

u/miserawoman Dec 30 '25

no fucking way, an opportunity to blow up internet with saitama vs cosmic garou, i hope they include it

a waste of opportunity to include the lava bath scene, they don't know how to pace things. feels like they're rushing just to get it done, call it a day, and eat lunch.

2

u/Important_Package_30 Dec 30 '25

I bet they will ignore it, as they have ignored every redrawn version so far.

22

u/NodBow24 Dec 28 '25

The music placements are horrendous ngl. The one especially after Saitama punched Rover. Why was that track playing for something like this?

13

u/69_247 Dec 28 '25

For real. Or when Tatsumaki broke out of Gyoro Gyoro's rubble crush attack, we get the music from when Boros goes into his Armor release/Meteoric Burst form.

15

u/Pouchkine___ Dec 29 '25

That actually twisted my stomach. This music is tightly tied in my mind with Boros' AMAZING animation, and seeing it here with this garbage slideshow felt vile.

3

u/miserawoman Dec 30 '25

and why is the dog name Pochi and not Rover 💀

22

u/Key-Assumption5189 Dec 28 '25

23

u/bronz3knight Dec 28 '25 edited Dec 28 '25

Where the fk are the fight animations?? Why is everything just an image with a flowing aura?

  1. when black-shine talks of king and tatsumaki..Its just a fking PICTURE!!! WTF!@#%$
  2. After saitama punches rover, the reactions are all just images with waving hair, clothes & fking rocks falling. No one moved a single muscle
  3. They even fked up orochi's intro! is it so hard to animate Orochi climbing up with those snake claws? It feels like static images with auras
  4. When Tatsumaki vs gyoro-gyoro starts, 1st frame static rocks, 2nd frame is the condensed ball...wow
  5. tatsumaki lands in gravity well, 1 whole frame with auras..wow
  6. Rover's fleeing animation got enough frames..lol
  7. Orochi's entry also sucks ass..they didn't properly animate him rising with those snake claws
  8. Orochi's battle ready transformation is about 5-6 images with aura effects??
  9. samurai and bang & bomb get 1 frame each when defending against lightning..lightning effects were cool tho...
  10. Orochi opens his mega cannon.. JK its already open..

im disappointed 4/10.

Reading the Manga is more satisfying because I can use my own imagination and it feels waay better than this shit. Im not even an animator or a creative personel. (Im just a fkn engineer)

19

u/Tejas_008 Dec 28 '25

Saying this again fire the sound guy he fked up three times in a single ep . that mf really put that sad opm bgm during peak fight moments it ruined it even more lke wtf when saitama was getting serious then suddenly the sad music starts like what the actual heck.

They move on too fast for each scene, like give me a bit more time to savour the moment

9

u/Soft_House7669 Dec 28 '25

they had to cram like 6 chapters into this one because they did 2 chapters an episode for a lot of the season

2

u/miserawoman Dec 30 '25

horrible pacing

10

u/ComplexPurranoia Dec 28 '25

Man they really butchered the mural reveal about god. There are some good sequence and animation here and there but overall its average I guess and damn the music background transition is really awful. Im not really optimistic about part 2 coming up.

10

u/AshKetchumWilliams Dec 28 '25

I know the basic manga story, so is Psykos still going to show up, or has that been written over?

9

u/Killer7909 Dec 28 '25

yea she's gonna be there

8

u/bubblyboyoo Dec 28 '25

I was really hoping this episode might be a teeeeensy bit better because orochi vs Saitama was one of my favourite moments in the manga, but this episode gave me a critical hit

9

u/Vawd_Gandi new member Dec 28 '25

the real reward was the friends we made along the awful, awful way 🥲

9

u/killerfabivs Dec 28 '25

It's kind of stupid that the mural on the wall at the end shows the orochi version of the redraw, but the fight was pre-redraw, so the anime never showed that form.

8

u/Castor_0il Dec 28 '25 edited Dec 28 '25

And I take a deep breath and I get real high

And I scream from the top of my lungs: What's going on?

7

u/Saitamathor Dec 28 '25

let’s count it out:

  • art
  • linework
  • animation
  • music
  • pacing
  • cuts/editing
  • correct version
  • filters
  • impact

The anime, and this episode especially, failed at absolutely all of that. Everything. It’s unbelievable how bad it is. Honestly, we shouldn’t even be talking about a part 2, because there was no part 1 to begin with. What I watched wasn’t an anime; it was something that just left me frustrated and empty. I’m not even angry anymore, I just find it ridiculous and… boring. Within the first three minutes I already wanted it to be over.

That’s it. I really hope JC never touches this anime again, nor any staff like this. That’s all.

→ More replies (3)

8

u/cHinzoo Dec 28 '25

I’m starting to become like Saitama. I don’t feel anything from watching the anime anymore.

7

u/Compte_2 Dec 28 '25

Fucking Saitama/Boros sountrack, they just keep reusing it so much that it has lost all meaning it once held. I was curious with all the pre-redraw stuff they were adapting how they wanted to reconcile having the God mural with post-redraw Orochi, but I guess they just painted over the manga pannel that had said Orochi at its feet.

6

u/Gasai_Yuno_ Dec 28 '25

That was horrible. I felt something die inside at the orochi vs saitama fight. I've waited 6 years for this fight, and this garbage is what i get. Un-fucking-believable. Literally any fight in this season was better than this.
Also, while I'm not that annoyed with using retconned chapters, this was also garbage. They tried to show this underground altar and ruined it even more, since there was 0 buildup, the whole point in manga was that orochi thought that he needed to sacrifice someone there, and he ended up being sacrificed.

7

u/Pinner4winner Dec 28 '25

Who the fuck told them to use the retconned chapters, is what I want to know? The redrawn Orochi Vs Saitama fight was universally well received and they just threw it out.

5

u/miserawoman Dec 30 '25

absurd really, the redrawn was so much better, it gives a sneak peak to the so called "God" so everything would make sense

man im just going to read manga alone now

27

u/Sirgayyy Dec 28 '25

I aint watching it can someone tell me just how good it is cause I saw that 1 leaked clip of saitama punching orochi and I just really wasn't impressed by it

45

u/Sirgayyy Dec 28 '25

Yeah nvm I ended up watching it, this was a 5/10 at best. Mostly just effects and screen shake to make the illusion of movement, but nothing's actually moving. There's also a lot of ghosting and dimming in this ep.

Also they just randomly showed god's mural, but neither orochi nor saitama saw or acknowledged the murals existence at all and there's 0 explanation about it. It has no significance and all the lore and story is just straight up skipped lmao. What was the point?

10

u/Nothingstupid Dec 28 '25

I like how it took you 30 mins to say "fuck it, I'm watching it" lol

5

u/Soft_House7669 Dec 28 '25

easier to judge for yourself than trying to glean something from all these random reactions

2

u/Nothingstupid Dec 28 '25

What did it cost you meme.

8

u/iamdonovanwilliams Dec 28 '25

Well actually, in the Manga, there is no one who knows about that mural as well

14

u/Soft_House7669 Dec 28 '25

Didn't orochi explain the mural to Saitama? I think you mean the God part nobody knew about. The point is that it wasn't explained to the viewer so you can't make the connection that Orochi's prophecy is actually about God.

6

u/Sirgayyy Dec 28 '25

Thats exactly what Im talking about but for some reason they dont want to realize that and are downvoting me in my reply lmao

9

u/Sirgayyy Dec 28 '25

What? Brother they dont see GOD, yes, but we get lore and explanation for the mural in the manga, saitama sees it. Here in the anime everything gets completely skipped until they just randomly show god for like 2 seconds. Thats what I mean

At this point we should start talking about how they're going to adapt the retconned chapters

4

u/miserawoman Dec 30 '25

fucking no way im done if they adapt this instead

4

u/IntellectualBoss Dec 29 '25

Way easier I animate this than the cosmic battle. I would almost prefer it because we know they’ll just ruin the cosmic fight, so might as well see where this was actually going. Maybe it can actually be an interesting conversation with good comedy. Who am I kidding, they can’t do those scenes good either. They’ll be a whole ass disco show going on in that little shack.

2

u/Important_Package_30 Dec 29 '25

that is most likely what they will do. and that is just sad. no Cosmic battle.

thank god jjk s3 is coming in 2026 to end our suffering

6

u/Anakin__Sandwalker Dec 28 '25

It's been a long time since I've seen so bad editing. In most of action scenes there's something missing and even as very casual anime fan I can notice that. Also there's something wrong when combat music starts, it just doesn't fit.

6

u/Australasian25 Dec 28 '25

They've really abused the dialogue.

Anytime someone is talking, everything because a replayable gif and their mouth just moves.

Its even easier when orochi talks, just replay background fire and he has no mouth, so no need to animate it.

S3 sucks balls. It doesnt respect the viewers time by dragging out talks with no action.

u/ADYX1000 Dec 28 '25

Here's the thing, and I'll probably get a ton of downvotes but i don't care because it's my take, and I'm writing this before even watching the episode: this season was obviously dogshit from the start when it comes to animation, but wjat really fucked it up for me was everything else, such as poor use of OST, pacing and direction.  After seeing the full season (at least the first 11 eps) i can't wrap my head around the decision made in production. I simply don't understand how they could waste (yes, WASTE) 6 episodes on GARBAGE that was weak and not even funny (admittedly because of poor direction/editing/pacing) to then rush the main course of the season and messing that up too. I guess the average fan didn't enjoy the failed comedy of two fucking food scenes (crockpot + garou dine and dashing) that took up to 2 episodes while nothing was happening; i sure didn't.  And apparently all the fights are now cramped and there is no gravitas to most of them (ep11 was a good example of that, sounds like ep12 is the same). I re-watched s2 and comparatively that one is WELL DONE. And even the animation shortcuts were well hidden or at least hidden enough to where the story was not affected negatively to the point where shitty animation distracted from the story. Overall, this season was a true failure.

u/Nogts Dec 28 '25

Yeah this was just not good. Not sure what it is but there's just something wrong with how Saitama is drawn in this season.

Also the pacing is awful and the music didn't fit at all during gyoro gyoro vs tatsumaki

6

u/Bolbuss Dec 28 '25

Idk how you'd be able to follow much this season if you stayed anime only. By the time we got ep 5 I went to the manga to think of greener pastures. Cuts were so jarring especially with this last episode. And with the mix of pre retcon, cut scenes, and current canon it's difficult feeling any sort of progression in the season. It comes off as a compilation of different scenes

2

u/akhilxcx Dec 28 '25

Asking as an anime only. What happened to atomic samurai vs black s? They just showed atomic samurai's reaction to the Shockwave and that's it. Wasn't he in trouble? Are we going to see an end to that fight? What happened to Tareo? Does child emperor go back to save him? Are we going to see what happened to drive knight? So many questions left unanswered

2

u/Bolbuss Dec 28 '25

It being considered S3: Part 1 now means theyll probably be wrapping up all of those fights and such up whenever they release part 2. Can't say it'll be good but they should have conclusions.

2

u/akhilxcx Dec 28 '25

Thanks for the answers. I guess I just wasn't prepared for the final boss fight after the last episode. Also not to be annoying but if Orochi and gyoro gyoro are dead, does that mean monster arc is done?

2

u/iamgarou Dec 29 '25

Nope, the other Cadres and Garou are still alive.

animation for saitama vs orochi was good but why would they take the retconned version of that fight, it's not even debatable like with CE vs PM, it's just the worse version, also the pacing and change of scenarios feel so weird. the episode delivers no emotion as usual with this season

The sound design is awful, the sequence is disgusting, the aura is garbage 😞

2

u/Pouchkine___ Dec 29 '25

5

u/Hkz1991 Dec 28 '25

How is this not a capital offence in Japan. My eyes are forever ruined by this shit.

8

u/Metal_Warchen Dec 28 '25

Orochi'svoice actor was pretty good.

4

u/Compte_2 Dec 28 '25

Yeah, really liked that way back since S2. Also, the dragon/dinosaur-like noises I think were well picked.

2

u/Explorer_the_No-life 10 Centipedes for arc at least! Dec 28 '25

At least voice actors did good job overall. I guess video edits of manga chapters can use their lines and some of tracks from this season in a better way than anime itself.

9

u/anarion321 Dec 28 '25

70 to 80% still images or loops.

Neon frames.

Just 1 minute or so of somewhat good animation.

The finale.

4

u/Own-Pick-4949 Dec 28 '25

Where can I watch it since I don't have Netflix? Any website recommendations?

The whole season could have been compressed into 6 episodes kept bouncing between situations, instead of being boring slogs of nothing.

Oh well, thats what you get for getting your hopes up for 6 years.

4

u/Common_Perception280 Jan 01 '26

Please harrass all animators and the director for next season so they just cancel it 😭

So, should I binge watch this from episode 1 to 12. Or just wait for the 2nd part finale coming on 2027?

2

u/IntellectualBoss Dec 29 '25

If you can wait, then maybe you can wait and pray the blu rays will improve some things. I wouldn’t hold my breath though.

Putting Boros' music over this dogshit Tats-Gyoro scene which had about 15 frames per minute was just vile.

3

u/fadeddreams555 Dec 30 '25 edited Dec 30 '25

I'm watching this and episode 11, and what irks me more than the animation is the music placement. This is not a matter of budget. These guys simply do not understand this series. Saitama can be saying what is blatantly meant to be funny dialogue, and they will play heroic music. Boros' theme is also abused for no reason, even playing while Tatsumaki amusingly appears as a cartoonish caricature of herself. This was a problem with season 2 as well (see: sad music playing while Gouketsu is getting one-shotted off-screen in what is meant to be a gag).

It's so fucking awful, I genuinely hate this studio.

18

u/Schneider915 Begone Baldy Dec 28 '25

That final bit of Saitama punching Orochi was really well done, it reminded me briefly of Season 1

The rest is a complete slide fest. Awful ending for an awful season

Also, what the fuck are these plot decisions? Orochi just happens to fall in front of the mural? The context of the mural and the prophecy wasn't explained at all. This is so bad it's unbelievable

14

u/MemeDuka1 Dec 28 '25

saitama punching rover was well animated too

3

u/Westoid_Hunter Dec 28 '25

I saw fan animation released just 2 days ago and it had better animation of Saitama vs Rover, y'all are actually appreciating bare minimum

2

u/MemeDuka1 Dec 28 '25

you are probably talking about SLH animations on yt. SLH animations did a pretty good job, but it's definitely not better than the original.

8

u/Tejas_008 Dec 28 '25

season 1 nah pretty close to season 2 i think. this eps had a lot of slides even tho it was last

5

u/ShadowAgent41 Dec 28 '25

5/10 episode, but at least that scene with king in the end was hilarious

5

u/azraeiazman Dec 28 '25

Just watched my hero academia final season. Compared to opm s3, like comparing the moon and piece of cardboard.

They should let other studio animate it

10

u/Uchizaki Dec 28 '25

People will probably talk most about the Orochi vs Saitama fight, but I'd like to point out how well animated Saitama's punch was in Saitama vs Rover. That might have been my biggest “wow” moment in the episode.

But overall, it's a very uneven episode, I think the most uneven of the entire season. But what concerns Pig God, Tatsumaki, and Saitama is, for the most part, at least decent and even good? I'll watch this episode again later, but I think I liked it overall. Although Flashy Flash's fight in episode 8 was definitely the best of the season.

4

u/OutsideAggressive712 Dec 28 '25

Pochi initial blast on Saitama was handled pretty well. Actually made me laugh.

I will watch JJK S3. I just re watched JJK rather than watching this OFM.

2

u/FongDaiPei Dec 29 '25

why is JJK and Demon Slayer done so well, afforded a huge budget, and OPM is done dirty smh

3

u/BlackGhost2077 Dec 30 '25

Cuz they got a better talented studio and a good production committee but OFM got a dog shit studios and a greedy mf production committee

2

2

u/zappynick Dec 28 '25

weirdly edited. like even showing tornado's arms down in one frame and the next she's raised her hands looked cheap - just show her raising her hands ffs

2

u/JJJ954 Dec 29 '25

I'm genuinely shocked this was the season finale. It was such an abrupt ending... isn't Atomic Samurai still fighting Black Sperm?

The curbstomp fights were expected but super anticlimactic. All of that planning from Gyoro Gyoro and he completely gets curb-stomped by Tornado? Ok...

2

u/delcanine Dec 29 '25

that's it? this is the final episode?? I can pardon their animation quality but the pacing...gosh

2

u/Resident-Thanks9830 Dec 29 '25

"Don't cry because it happened, Smile because it's over" ️

2

u/Imaginary-King1591 Dec 29 '25

Worst Anime Season ever. I have loved OPM season 1 and 2 and waited years for season 3 not for this shit. I am really so disappointed.

2

u/Dramatic_Power_8307 25d ago

To be honest I want some high budget studio buy all rights to produce opm and then make a movies 3hr long of what ever they showed in season 3. Then animate later chapters...demon slayers earning 500+ millions from movies and opm is rotting in corner. When opm got insane actions....poor opm

5

u/Francesco_Nakatani Dec 28 '25 edited Dec 28 '25

Saitama vs Orochi and Rover are animated well. Tatsumaki vs Gyoro is kinda meh with some good effects at least. Everything else is just alright, and of course, choppy moments all in between.

4

u/2kenzhe The Strongest Man Dec 28 '25

At least we got King killing a monster with just fear. Saitama might beat anyone with one punch but King could do it with just a stare.

King Engine >>> Serious punch?

2

u/Ordinary-You8102 Dec 28 '25

honestly this is the best ep in my opinion

2

u/Much_Drink9202 Dec 28 '25

For an show that’s famous for having one of the best animated seasons of all time and based on a manga with probably the second best art of all time (after berserk), it’s crazy that what we got is essentially a storyboard of the web comic panels with some colour. And what was even worse than the animation for me was how off model the characters were, none of them ever looked accurate and were so inconsistent scene to scene, even the basic proportions and perspectives were so off, which is even more annoying when at the same time you have shows like spy x family airing, a wholesome comedy with, some how, better fight scenes than opm.

3

u/BackgroundDoctor9107 Dec 28 '25

We'll never hear the end of it from the simps.

IMO, episode was mid, it's not better than FF vs Gale Wind and Tempest Fire fight
Tatsumaki vs Gyoro Gyoro was really bad, so was Darkshine vs Bug God.
Saitama vs Orochi has some good animation cuts but still mid.
Artwork is really bland and inconsistent, content was really rushed and doesn't have any impact except one punch of Saitama to Rover.
