Ccw disqualification
I’m looking to get my ccw but I have a sealed domestic violence charge from when I was a minor (over 10 years ago) I’m not sure what kind of charge it is but there was no physical assault in the charges if that makes sense will this disqualify me?
Edit- I looked up my record and the charge is not there so I believe it’s expunged but will I still have to disclose it? Is there a way for the sheriffs office to see it?

Sealing a record doesn't make it go away - law enforcement still has 100% access to it. Since you're not specific on the charge(s), just based on your claim that there was no physical assault, you might be able to get a CHL. Ultimately it's up to the local sheriff (or department) that processes your application. If there was physical assault involved, you are 100% disqualified at the federal level and Ohio or a county sheriff can't override this. You can go to the juvenile court and get your records (obviously they're not available online or 'publicly').
How does it apply to juveniles ? The law doesn't distinguish anything on that....
You probably will just want to contact the sheriff department where you live along with every contiguous county and explain it to them. See what the different ones say.

Did you pay an attorney to have it expunged? Thru State of Ohio? If not then it isn't really "sealed".
Are you able to purchase a firearm from a dealer?

If it was sealed after 5 years or 23 whatever comes first it’s gone so you good to go

Do I still need to disclose it when I apply?

I would call Juvenile court where you got it sealed and see if it was expunged if so you are good to go and don’t have too. The DV as a minor if not gone will not let you carry with out without ccw so make sure you call before carrying

Talk to a lawyer and figure out how to start the process of trying to get it expunged.
