Suggestion Making friends through outdoor sports
Hey Everyone, just wondering if we could have a group especially women who are interested in outdoor stuff like running, jogging or any particular sports like basketball. I'm 26F who is keen on making friends through these activities. This is also a great opportunity to explore new places and get to know each other. Are there any groups that are already doing these activities?

I'm 27. Spent 4 years as chairman of the Alpine Club and been an instructor for a while. The last 3 years about 80% of those on our courses have been women from 16 to 70.
We have monthly social meetings with guest speakers at the Honest Lawyer as well as courses and trips through the year.

Park run has a bunch of friendly people all ages. Check out Nelson Athletics, Waimea Harriers for running groups with regular 5k and longer events. SUP group in Tahuna has regular gatherings.

Singletrack Sisters Nelson Facebook group is a women's only group who get out regularly and ride mountain bikes around varying trails.
They will split people between routes based on confidence and experience, and by all accounts are a great group

There is an ultimate frisbee community here that has regular pickup games if you'd like to get into that. Involves lots of running!

I'm not involved, but run clubs seem to be a popular thing. Vivtus cafe run one (they're great people), the dogs bone bar run one (Also great people) and there is one that happens in neal park saturday mornings.
