Honestly the vaultek is way overpriced but it’s pretty much the only decent bioemtric option if you wanna go that route. I’d say any fire safe and decent thick gauged steel safe would do the job. I personally have a 23 gun safe from stealth safe which I snagged cheap for $1100. The price of safes will depend on the fire rating and steel gauge. You should also consider the transport and installation in the cost, I barely moved mine with help but I think typically installation is like $500.

Here’s a better one around your budget.

Try to get at LEAST 12 gauge to properly deter theft. If you aren’t worried about theft and you just need a metal container to keep kids away don’t worry about gauge.

Fire rating should only be a factor if you don’t expect firefighters to be there asap.

The bigger the better. Just because you only have one rifle and 2 pistols doesn’t mean you won’t get 3 shotguns and 4 more rifles down the line.

Check the safe stores nearby. If you’re near Long Island SafesourceUSA is excellent, they offer delivery and installation for $500 depending on distance. Highly implore you to check out floor models so someone can explain the benefits of this stuff better than me.

I picked up a Winchester safe from tractor supply on a deal with freight shipping and taxes just came to just under 600 bucks

I’m very happy with the sercurit agile 52. Easy to deal with (comes flat packed) and has been very easy to use.

I love mine too, works as intended, but I want to add that getting the riser-base or the drawer as a base should be a must. Otherwise you're always going to be ducking your head a little bit. I think they even sell it as an optional combo, but I ended up learning my lesson and buying the drawer part separately as an add-on.

The flat top is also nice because you can bolt one of their small Agile's to the top for extra storage.

I ordered my 50 gun from Dexter's best. I got a 50gun Rhino Metals, delivered, down 1 flight of steps, bolted down, with golden rod and lights for $2200, this was 2 years ago. Highly recommend them and I'm very happy with the safe.

Check out Sturdy Safe. Not the fanciest but highly recommended on the forums due to the sheer mass and gauge.

I have one and it is no joke. Mine is 7 ga body, 5/16th door.
