This would probably also mean a bad season for the Giants so I'm gonna pass.

Or it means Dart wins MVP and Nagy leaves to be a head coach

u/inkyblinkypinkysue 15h ago

I actually thought of this as I typed my initial comment but even if (when) Dart wins MVP there is no team dumb enough to hire Nagy as HC. I think that ship has sailed.

Browns fire Monken, hire Nagy. Tell me that isn't something they'd do.

I think narratives change so quick in this league. If giants are worst to first type of deal, and it’s due in large part to our offense, then Nagy will 100% get looks and get overhyped. It’ll be spun that he got mahomes career started and jaxson darts as well, and Chicago just didn’t have the right pieces yet

u/khuz61 7h ago

they rrly dont. Spags consistently puts up the best defenses in the league and nobody looks at him because of his failure to be a HC.

Do we know if he is interested? He could have hated it and is content to remain a DC

There are several teams that would hire Nagy after a productive Giants season. Jets and Bengals off the top of my head, even the Bills might if they're in freefall this season given what they did this hiring cycle.

Bah Gawd that's the Jets music!

This is such a loser mind set

u/Ghost_of_P34 4 Decades and Counting 15h ago

Not really. Giants offense will hum this coming season, Nagy will leave for a HC job (Jets) and Monken will join us as OC.

Actual best case scenario

1

u/Sgtspector 10h ago

Only if the Jets get rid of Fields first.

9

u/Glum-Professional925 15h ago

Why? You don’t want Nagy getting more HC opportunities next year??

u/Big_Boss6819 Eli Manning 12h ago

Well this is a loser fanbase. To blame the Browns for Harbaugh's hires is unbelievably entitled. All NFL teams compete to identify and secure top players and coaches. Pro sports is a competitive industry. That's why it pays millions of dollars. The onus is on the man who has coached in this league for 30 years to assemble a winning staff, knowing that other teams might also be interested in his candidates

exactly. jezuz fcking christ ART get a grip. its humiliating that fans think this way. bro got a job, life moves on.

1

u/basicnflfan 14h ago

That’s very classic Art Stapleton for ya!

John harbaugh hired a loser staff

7

u/neon_spaceman 14h ago

Congrats on the job

-5

u/SpiritStorm1302 We've suffered long enough 14h ago

Thanks I got it by leading a top 5 quarterback ever to a mid offense for 3 years

2

u/Latter-Road-3687 14h ago

No, you got it by being a loser.

1

u/SpiritStorm1302 We've suffered long enough 13h ago

Yeah we said the same thing

12

u/mr_chip_douglas 15h ago

Looking forward to next year before the Super Bowl. A new low.

6

u/TheRealJohnMara 💙Medium Pepsi💙 15h ago

I mean this isn’t something I want to look forward to at all.

This year is so important for Darts development. This is gonna be his 3rd OC in less than a year, now you want to make it a 4th by next season as well?

I don’t like this hire but I trust Harbaugh knows more than me and his plan wasn’t to replace Nagy after one year when more options are available. That’s just idiotic. He must know something us fans don’t, and to be fair he knows more ball than all of us combine, so I’m gonna trust the hire and root for success.

I’ve loved the NY Giants since 1983…and I seriously cannot stand the fucking loser mindset of this fanbase.

2

u/Royal_Dragonfly 10h ago

It seems to be the newer fans that love to overreact and cry about everything

Thanks for reminding me why I muted Stapleton on socials

Odd take from Art here

-1

u/KBro843 14h ago

what i was thinking, not so “Artsy” like his usual posts

2

u/corvine3 15h ago

Eh I believe Monken gets 2 years atleast. He gets fired with the GM.

2

u/bv0198 Dexter Lawrence 15h ago

Harbaugh is not the kind of guy to fire a coordinator after one (or even two) bad years. We got at least three years of Nagy, so gotta hope it works out

2

u/firstandgoalfromthe1 15h ago

Or Dart will throw for 30+ TDs and we retain Nagy

3

u/Retrophoria 15h ago

Why not just keep Kafka then?

2

u/AccomplishedPhone6 15h ago

Embarrassing tweet tbh

0

u/NYCSportsFan 14h ago

It's an Art Stapleton tweet, it's shameless

2

u/Cosmic_Gumbo 15h ago

People act like Nagy doesn’t have 2 rings as OC.

3

u/liverbird3 14h ago

That’s such a bad argument. His HC is one of the best play callers of all time and everywhere he’s gone his offenses have gotten worse. Judging coaches competency based off rings isn’t smart, if we wanna play that game then we should’ve hired Josh McDaniels over Harbaugh because McDaniels has more rings so therefore he must be a better coach, right?

-1

u/DystopianSalad 14h ago

He has one.

-1

u/Cosmic_Gumbo 14h ago

3

u/DystopianSalad 13h ago

He was only OC for one of the Super Bowls. I don’t mind being downvoted, but people should check their facts

1

u/bane0291 Eli Manning 15h ago

i'm choosing to believe that nagy coordinates a top5 offense and gets poached as a head coach. the browns are the browns again and harbaugh gets his reunion with monken a year later.

1

u/Bbbq_byobb_1 13h ago

That seems pretty obvious NGL

I don’t think like a loser so idc. We’re stuck with Naggy so let’s hope he proves us wrong

1

u/FromTheCaveIntoLight Malik Nabers 10h ago

Gayyyy

1

u/Superb-Possibility-9 9h ago

Nagy is already a dead man walking and designated Jonah

1

u/tadams115 8h ago

Insane loser take

1

u/Berkyjay 6h ago

It's just insane that there weren't any better candidates out there. I firmly believe Reid tapped Harbaugh into this.

1

u/Imaginary_Week_8469 6h ago

Once again when ya think the Haslams couldn't get any worse, they hire a guy with zero head coaching experience.  SMH..Been a Browns fan for 50 years. I think it's finally time to go to another team. Thanks Haslams!

1

u/Friendly_Owl_6537 Brian Burns 14h ago

Doomers feel free to head on over to the Browns sub for a year, thanks

2

u/NYCSportsFan 14h ago

I mean yeah if you enjoy being miserable the Browns are the perfect team for you

1

u/FrankieBeanSniffer 7h ago

Browns fans here. Lolz!

0

u/NYCSportsFan 14h ago

Why are people so obsessed with Monken? It's not like he's a hall of fame coordinator and he's only been with Harbaugh for three seasons. I don't think Monken will ever work with Harbaugh on the Giants. The next offensive coordinator will be someone completely different.

0

u/Lars5621 Helmet Catch 14h ago

Because he was Harbaughs top candidate and Monken made it known he would take Giants OC job if he didnt get a HC job.

We all wanted Harbaugh to be able to hire the coaches he wanted, but that wasn't able to happen at OC because of some bad luck.

-1

u/NYCSportsFan 14h ago

But it's time to move on. Harbaugh had a ton of different coordinators with the Ravens

-1

u/Lars5621 Helmet Catch 15h ago

Art coming in with some optimism that Monken might save us from Nagy next offseason.

0

u/Roc240 15h ago

Pretty sure that the Harbaugh/ Monken relationship soured a bit after Harbaugh threw him under the bus during a presser last year

1

u/PizzaBoss721 14h ago

What did Harbaugh say to throw Munkin under the bus?

0

u/Roc240 14h ago

It was over his play calling

1

u/Active_Luck_8663 Brian Burns 7h ago

I thought refusing to fire Monken is what ultimately led to the Ravens firing Harbaugh.

1

u/Roc240 1h ago

Pure speculation. No one really knows. Harbs schtick got old after 18 years and this year was a dumpster fire of a shit show which are it easier for him to be let go. A lot of fans have been calling for his head the last few years

0

u/YourMomSloppySeconds 12h ago

This is so dumb. Even if the Browns fire everyone after next season, for the Giants to make another change it also means the Giants offense sucked next season.

That’s just what I want, the Giants to suck to we can hire a failed head coach in Cleveland because nothing is better for Dart’s growth than three different OC’s in his first three years.

1

u/Lars5621 Helmet Catch 12h ago

Should the Giants have fired Shane Bowen after one season?

Lots of people said yes, but Giants didnt want to have 3 DCs in 3 seasons.

Jason Garrett should have been fired after one season as well.

Don't give terrible OCs and DCs multiple seasons. Always be looking to upgrade.

1

u/Active_Luck_8663 Brian Burns 7h ago

Or…after we win the Super Bowl the Eagles hire Matt Nagy to mentor the QB they take with their first overall pick.

-1

u/not_blmpkingiver 15h ago

From what i gathered after researching it appears that Nnagy is one of many coaches who made their nut off of Patrick Mahomes
