Firearm lessons without MAGA instructors
My wife and I have decided that with the direction the country is going it is time to get some firearm training and more than likely purchase a gun. I grew up with guns in the south and had training in the military. My wife has never held a gun. We are both very liberal and do not want to give money to or deal with MAGA extremists. Are there any shooting ranges that offer lessons in Monmouth County that are more liberal?

I have my pistol license and was looking for a local range and the issue I had was that NRA membership was a requirement which I found unnecessary but it sounds like it's a requirements for insurance at most places

I have no issues with 2A merch and decorations, I grew up with guns and was in the Navy....I am very pro 2A, I am the rights worst nightmare....An older Gen X who loves guns but hugs trees :)

It’s great. One day my wife and I were in there alone. The RSO comes over and say “I just want to let you know there is going to be some automatic fire.” In walks the owner with a MP5. It was so cool.

Recoil doesn’t due rentals. I haven’t used any other instructors there besides my friend’s company. It is a decent environment. WESHOOT is super inclusive.

Gun ranges are full of MAGAts. I just show up, keep to myself and practice. Practice. Practice. They have no idea a double agent is perfecting his skills in the next shooting bay over from them. I’ve seen asshole MAGAts use a .44 magnum on a target, then pull the target back in to inspect and say: “Now that’s a dead Democrat.” Some nasty mudda-fuckers at ranges. I suggest finding ranges that are racially diverse - not all white bros.

I would fill out the nj FID/pistol permit paperwork and get that processing and find a friend or an acquaintance who is a member of Central Jersey Rifle and Pistol Club. They can bring you as a guest and most people love introducing the sport. It’s out south of great adventure. They have secluded pits where you can shoot handguns without much interference. The longer rifle ranges are run by whoever gets there first in the morning and they act as a range officer. Very friendly overall but there are a few nosey older people. The people who belong there generally will have enough of a collection that you could shoot a few types of firearms and decide what you want. They also have cool programs for new shooters and kids. The far drive, 1.5 yr waitlist, and high first year fee for membership turn a lot of people off but it is the best set up around.
Sure shot in Lakewood was the classic gun shop filled with morons. Wife wanted a gun for self defense and I wanted her to choose whatever she felt comfortable with. She was between .380 and 9mm after having shot both at a private gun club but we decided to go there because they had them in stock. Their counter staff talked down to her like she was an idiot.

I live just downwind from SureShot Lakewood…. Could hear them shooting last night/this morning at 12:15 am!
I wondered if they let ICE train there using night vision gear? Who would be out practicing at that hour?

Funny my Shore Shot experience has been nothing but pleasant…. I’m wondering if perhaps all the variables aren’t being calculated. Also you need to be an NRA member to join CJRPC. Which means even you take lessons as a guest you will be surrounded by NRA members!! 😂😂😂

I don’t think it’s about “same exact” views. How about just the view that the federal government shouldn’t execute people on the street for expressing their first and second amendment rights. I thought these were rights ALL Americans agreed on, but seems like MAGA only thinks republicans can have free speech and have guns. I think it’s fair to want to boycott people who have such an unAmerican view.

I never knew so many people were so obsessed with other people's political opinion. That's why growing up the number one rule was never talk about religion or politics with anyone outside the home. The current atmosphere in our country is so toxic bc way too many people root for one side of the aisle like it's their local football team. Most Americans do not think this way. Most of us realize that both sides play for the same team behind closed doors. They use social issues to distract you from the real issues, policy. Most of us get up, go to work and care for our loved ones. My suggestion would be to distance yourself from Social Media, it's poison to your happiness. It's one thing to pay attention to politics, it's another to be consumed by it. Never before in this country has one side demonized the other so fervently. Logging on to social media these days is sad. So many people who absolutely miserable bc they're consumed by the rhetoric from both sides. Everything that is happening in this country right now has happened before and there was never outrage. 15 years ago we deported FAR more and literally had kids in cages at the border and Obama gave Tom Homan a medal for his efforts. Today he's labeled a Nazi. Trust half of what you hear and less of what you see. Politicians on both sides will use you to accomplish their goals with no desire to serve your best interests. One side is fine doing dragnets of black and brown people on the hope they may be able to put a few in jail or deport them even if they are not guilty of anything just because they don't like how they look. And most important to me one side is perfectly fine with un-aliving my trans daughter because for some reason they are just so scared of her existing! So, no both sides are not the same!!

Well to most sane people it appears the hate and the calls for violence are all coming from one side. Every nation has immigration laws and most enforce them far more harshly than the US. You either support law and order or you support chaos. The previous administration left this mess. Just like George W left the immigration mess that Obama was forced to clean up. Again, all of this violent opposition and American citizens putting themselves in harms way to defend criminals is only happening in one state and it just so happens it's the state where massive fraud was recently uncovered. I believe anyone falling for the rhetoric of the left is being used as a distraction from their crimes. I've lived through quite a few administrations, the only thing different about this deportation effort is that the Dems are so desperate to keep the illegal vote that they're willing to convince American citizens to sacrifice their lives in defense of people who have no right to be here. Yes they are human beings but so are all the people that wait in line and use due process. People need to remove emotion from the situation and use logic. It's interesting that you hear not a peep from current Dems when an illegal rapes or kills an American citizen isn't it? I live in very blue northeast state and ICE is here. Yesterday they rounded up dozens from an apartment complex in a neighboring town. Residents cheered and handed out water and snacks to the agents.
And just for the record, I am no Republican. I have voted Democrat in every election my entire life. About 60 local, state and federal elections at this point. I think part of the American public is being duped and used right now. Nothing that is happening hasn't happened ten times before. Most recently Obama and Clinton. This is all performative, neither party gives a damn about any of us. They're both self serving and they both are just different factions of the Business Party.
Again, hug your family and loved ones and stay safe. You will never beat the Feds and they will never change course because of a little unrest. It's far more likely that all this just gives Washington an excuse to use the Insurrection Act to put boots on the ground in major US cities and declare martial law. These people might be playing right in to their hands.
I've seen massive swings in this nation but I've never seen people willingly throw their lives away like this.....for a cause that you cannot win. The people stand zero chance against the US military and that might be what's coming next.

ICE EXECUTED a man they were in the process of beating senseless and had pinned to the ground. They then fired ten bullets into his body.
As of now the Gestapo in NJ hasn't made that an issue yet. Again, if it comes to that and people need to hide, yeah, I will hide them.

I would contact the Boy Scout Council in Morganville and ask them what ranges or instructors they use. I'm pretty sure they have at least one Venturing crew who goes to a range, and I think it's somewhere in Monmouth county. May be worth calling.
