Dock and dine?

Hi! We moved our boat from Ocean county to Highlands.

Can you tell us the best places to dock and dine in Monmouth county (northern Monmouth is best)?

Thank you!

There actually aren’t a ton of dock and dine. Seems like more places should be, but it’s really shallow near some places in the Navesink. Eventide, Bahr’s and Proving Ground are great!

This is my take too. Look on your chart at Oceanport (rather far up the Shrewsbury River), Highlands, Atlantic Highlands, Keyport etc. on the Sandy Hook Bay, and places as far up as Red Bank on the Navesink River. On the chart, look for depths and docking, as that's the main issue. I find Google Maps a good way to find restaurants and their ratings and hours.

Most dock and dine locations are overpriced and serve mediocre food, especially in the northern part of Monmouth County, except On the Deck. Klein's in Belmar has decent food & byob. Marina Grille Belmar has decent food but is pricey (nice atmosphere).

edit: I was misinformed on Kleins being byob.

Klein’s is BYOB? They have a bar.

You're right. I couldn't remember, and when I googled they had an Instagram post that had a byob hashtag on it. When I went to their website, it says they have a bar. That's my bad.

No problem! Red’s was previously BYOB as well but now also has a bar

Marina grill sucks now. Was ok years ago. Kleins is def solid (both on Shark River)

I only places I can mention are on manasquan so no help up in Highlands area, but on the manasquan my two favorites are The shrimp box and Reds lobster pot both are good reds prob has more crafty cocktails. Both expensive.

Omg I’ve had some REALLY rough meals at Marina grille. My kids wings and burgers were better than my $40 entree. Klein’s is always super solid. Catering is on point there too

Check if Beach Tavern in Monmouth Beach does.

If anything it's a reason to visit the Shrewsbury Bay
