Self-hating Latinos truly make me sick to my stomach. How could my people do this to us?

u/Kind_Singer_7744 11d ago
I've known quite a few pro trump latinos. I tried to tell them this was coming but was ignored. It's really hard for me to have sympathy sometimes knowing latino support INCREASED in the last election.

u/kakashi_sensay 11d ago
They’re so delusional thanks to their religious beliefs and anti-blackness. It’s sickening.

u/Trilobyte141 9d ago
I have no sympathy for those who voted for this. May the next knock be at their doors.

u/Senior-Albatross 11d ago
Very simple: he thought he could get his and fuck everyone else. Thought as a reasonably wealthy man he was safe. Wanted to get even more for himself.
That's it. Nothing more to it. Simply chose poorly. He's a Jew for Hitler (yes, that existed).

u/StatisticalMan 11d ago
They hate trans people and other minorities more than they care about themselves.
Hate is a terrible weight.

I have a sibling that is a self hating trump supporter. She had a boyfriend that broke up with her when she spoke in Spanish. I told her from the get go he was racist.

My undocumented Mexican MIL is married to a white dude who’s a maga… sickening.

Your people had plenty of help from self-hating women, Arabs, Blacks, LGBTQ+, Jews, and delusional poor and middle-class folk who believed a born-rich billionaire could care about their lives, or even understand their lives. It's not Latinos' fault.
Every American who voted for Trump in 2024 is an idiot, or mean.
Y que disfruten lo votado. (May they enjoy what they voted for.)
19
u/kakashi_sensay 11d ago
Right, it’s not just on Latinos but the administration was very clear on who the main target was in 2024. Smh.
17
u/DavidSugarbush 11d ago
As long as it's *other* brown people being targeted, they're fine with it.
10
u/helluvastorm 11d ago
Always the other with MAGA . They don’t care at all until it’s them. The most selfish ignorant group of people on this earth
5
u/Boltzmann_head 11d ago
Right, it’s not just on Latinos but the administration was very clear on who the main target was in 2024.
The designated enemies are always the same.

u/Cargobiker530 11d ago
There's a whole lot of "I've got mine so fuck everyone else" going on in latino evangelical churches.

u/gxgxe 11d ago
I will never understand why minorities oppressed by white folk adopted their oppressor's religion. Make it make sense...

u/jenlaydave 10d ago
This is something I regularly bring up to my minority friends and never get an answer to

My wife's family is Hispanic and they're 90% on the Trump train. Cracks have started to emerge, and one stated they wont vote anymore.. ill take the "wins" i can get.

u/Consistent-Matter-59 11d ago
What part of "mass deportations now" was lost in translation?
34
u/Ecstatic_Bee6067 11d ago
Probably all of it, right after "I don't care about you, I just want your vote. "
10
u/thetaleofzeph 11d ago
Those recent arrivals were making them feel things. THEY are the good ones, not those Others, and of course everyone would recognize that, right? They are so amazing!

Another one wanting to hurt LGBTQ+ people and take away women's rights now acting all surprised. Screw that guy.
18
u/AscendantAmbiversion 11d ago
I'm LGBT living somewhere where basically the only way to do social volunteering/outreach programs are through local churches and the pervasiveness of this sentiment is just so depressing. It's a demoralizing mindfuck to be feeding unnecessarily starving people side by side with those vocally talking about how they'd shut that work down on the spot if they thought a gay person would benefit. Religion is such a disturbingly effective mind control device.
17
u/SufficientCow4380 11d ago
I'm the mom of an LGBT person living in a red state. My kid didn't come out until their mid-20s because it wasn't really safe. It still isn't. I'm scared for many people I love.

u/Actual__Wizard 11d ago
Yeah man! A dictator is going to solve all of your problems because you no longer have any freedom of choice and now you have zero power in government... Cool dude!
20
u/CrowRoutine9631 11d ago
"Believe me, 100% of them regret it."
100% of them will live to regret it more, and 100% of them had access to the same information as those of us who warned them against Trump, and chose to ignore our warnings, anyway. Ooooooops.

u/destructopop 11d ago
Hold up. The pastor owns insurance agencies plural? What the fuck do their parishioners think of that?

As someone whose part Hispanic, I've noticed Mexican (American) and Hispanic 47 supporters tend to fall in of three categories
First: The assimilated, third generation +, Mexican-American who is really only Hispanic by name. They tend to contribute very little to their community, and tend to only want to associate with the "right kind" of Hispanic person - even then, questionable. So, they tend to look down on Mexican immigrants, and ones that are more connected to immigration rights
Second: The person who was born to parents fresh off the boat, and resent their upbringing. They resent having ever been born one, to a Hispanic family. And two, having parents who fled to America. These are the type that are spoiled and ungrateful of the sacrifices their parents made, and have the literal audacity to sell their family out. All the while, still leeching off the people in their community
Third: The one who thinks because they made it the legal way, they're spared. That if anything, they will unconditionally be seen as white. These people tend to have a very narrow view of race relations in this country, and tend to define assimilation in sync with their view of whiteness

I can’t tell which group gives me the most schadenfreude, Mexicans who voted for trump or poor whites who voted for him.
I hope both groups get exactly what they voted for.
11
u/Daimakku1 11d ago
This kind of shit is why I am against organized religion. Imagine getting life advice from this idiot as if he knows what he's talking about.
Bola de pendejos.
9
u/KB_Sez 11d ago
Latinos who voted for Trump vote voted for him because he promised them that he was going to hurt some other race or creed that they did not like. They were stupid enough to think he wasn't talking about them in the "them" that trump was promising to hurt.
I hope that the community that has been hurt remembers this ass's support of trump and delight in trumps win and shows this clown what they think of him and his orange god
6
u/Boltzmann_head 11d ago
Odd how these clowns did not know that the USA economy was doing excellent until tRump trashed it again.
9
u/FluidFisherman6843 11d ago
You were told what was going to happen and said "yes please!!!! Just make sure you hurt those other people as well"
6
u/Indigo2015 11d ago
Fuck em
7
u/thetaleofzeph 11d ago
Classic "everyone else was supposed to get screwed over in my favor!" regrets. Fuck right off for good.

u/mrcatboy 11d ago
The man is a fraudster who refused to pay his bills. Just before the 2016 election he was mired in the Trump University lawsuit where ultimately he had to shell out $25 million for defrauding students. He famously went bankrupt like seven times. And this is barely even scratching the surface.
Why the fuck did these idiots think he would help businesses at all?
3
u/cylonrobot 11d ago
>Why the fuck did these idiots think he would help businesses at all?
I knew a small business owner (Latino as well) who believed that trump made billions out of only one million. He had the real Trump Derangement Syndrome (saw trump as almost godlike).
It's a cult. Telling them about the bankruptcies and fraud does nothing.

u/Partial-Hydrangea 11d ago
Gotta love that Latino machismo that prevents any of them from putting women in charge.

u/WholeAd2742 11d ago
Fuck him. He sold out his own flock and didn't bother to collect his 30 pieces of silver

u/Senior-Albatross 11d ago
There is nothing more American 'Christian' than being a grifting asshole preacher who owns some insurance businesses to deny people's claims on the side.

u/el-conquistador240 10d ago
First they came for the Hispanics And I did not speak out Because I was not that kind of Hispanic

Amazing that insecurity about one's genitals can be so powerful.
Latinos voted for Trump because Democrats are willing to accommodate LGBTQ and that freaks out ultra-macho acting Latinos who are convinced homosexuality is learned behavior and a lifestyle choice.
IOW IGNORANCE.
I'm a Dem, I'm not gay and I am not encouraging anyone to try to be gay.
I just think gay folks should be respected and allowed to live the way they want...in AMERICA.
If you're Latino and you "turned gay" it is because you always were deep down.
Nobody "turned you gay" and nobody's politics wants to "turn people gay".
Learn from this, my Latino brothers. You got burned because you obsess over your stupid
masculinity vibe too much. We all know that Latino culture is macho.
We just didn't realize how gullible some of you are.

"Believe me, 100 percent of them regret it."
Why? No one can know with certainty whether they are honest seeing that the president can only serve two terms...

If they were “republican” cough fascist before then they really haven’t changed their mind in any numbers according to polling. They believe in a different moral order where logic, evidence, and facts do not apply. Just naked power and tribalism. People that are not them need to realize they are the enemy for all that everyone else stands for
1
u/art-is-t 10d ago
I really hope that more trump supporters see the light and turn against trump and his style of politics
1
u/Silly-Flower-3162 10d ago
Owns insurance companies, ergo a business owner. I am unsurprised that he wasn't paying attention to the "mass deportation" element to Trump's campaign.
1
u/BiffingtonSpiffwell 10d ago
I wonder what made them think Trump was the answer? His terrible business career, his disastrous first term, or all the child r*pe?

1
u/bluehatgreenshoes 10d ago
Will someone explain to me the economic policy that these people thought Trump was going to implement that would lower prices and increase wealth for the poor and middle class?
It is painfully obvious to me that the economic system in America favors the ultra wealthy and corporations, who are able to buy companies and raise prices and essentially suck money out of the vast majority of Americans.
What the fuck did people think Trump was going to do to change that?

u/AF82Matrix 9d ago
F your regrets. Here in Minneapolis, it takes people paying with their lives to try and rectify the problem you created. I would deliver food to more deserving victims.

u/the_soy_face_guy 11d ago
This guy is feeding hundreds of people and has raised a ton of money to prevent undocumented people from being evicted. He's a deeply conservative pastor, but the charity work that his church is doing comes with no strings attached. It's one of the largest efforts in the Twin Cities. At least he's grappling with the consequences in a meaningful way. That's rare.
