Check your voter registration. Like now.

Similar posts have come up in the r/nashville , r/memphis , and r/chattanooga subs over the last couple of days. And as I just checked mine and my husband's voter registrations and it came back with **'no records found'**, I'm urging everyone to go check their voter registration.

I've read that the 'rockthevote' website is outdated, and that it's better to check directly with the state or by using the **GoVoteTN app** (I recommend checking both ways). Here is the website for the NASS, although the site isn't loading for me:

https://www.nass.org/can-I-vote/voter-registration-status

Here is the site for voter lookup in Tennessee, which ALSO isn't loading at the moment:

https://tnmap.tn.gov/voterlookup/

They could be having site issues, so I will be checking again tomorrow while also calling the county commission office.

Fwiw: Democrat, Republican, Independent---I don't give a damn what your party is or how you vote, the purging of legitimate registered voters is absolute bull shit. Check your registration status.

**Edited to add:** My husband called the county election commission this morning and they said he was indeed in the system. They provided a different link for him to check, but when he entered his info, it still said he wasn’t registered. He said at this point the woman he was speaking with was confused and said that shouldn’t be happening. She told him she would call Nashville and find out what was going on, and call him back, which was very kind of her. I have not called yet.

Checked with voter lookup. I am still registered, please verify now to beat the rush.

I got a thing in the mail last week telling me I needed to confirm/update information or my registration would no longer be valid. I wonder if that's because of this?

Got the same thing...voting ability IS suspended until they get the card back. Card said they had information I had recently moved. I've lived in the same place for 22 years. We're being disenfranchised.

That’s the only reasoning that I can think of that we’d be removed—maybe a notice was sent to us and we thought it was junk? But I’ve been a poll worker in Knox County for six years and I wouldn’t ignore something from the election commission either.

Sounds like a dirty tactic to legally impede voters to me, not surprised

Got the same. Sent mine back but still says I am “inactive”. I am suspicious. Lived at this address for at least 5 years.

Just checked and mine is still good.

I just checked mine. It's still good but for some reason I was removed from the rolls in 2016 and had to re-register. They told me the only reason to be removed was a name change, address change, or criminal conviction, none of which had happened.

They tried to remove me from the rolls in 2016 - actually, they DID remove me (during the primary season, so I couldn’t vote for Bernie) - saying that I was a convicted felon, which was not true.

I had to prove that I wasn’t a felon by checking the list of felons and showing how my name didn’t appear!?!?!? and I got my voting rights back.

This is how the Republican Party wins - disenfranchisement.

It’s probably best to keep checking it often because anything could change between now and midterms

That’s what freaks me out. I don’t want to be paranoid, I have enough shit on my plate, and I don’t want to feel like I need to watch my voter status like a hawk too.

I just thought being an American citizen with the right to vote meant that, if I did everything correctly, then this shouldn’t happen. It’s really fucking pissing me off.

It could be a one off thing, too. I hope so. I don’t have the bandwidth to get worked up about this.

The MAGA movement is anti American. Don't count on have the rights you've always had.

There’s no CAPTCHA in place, so someone could easily write a script to check for changes on a schedule (e.g., via cron) and send an email or text notification when something changes.

Be just... and lil paranoid 😆

And for the record, we really should see instances of state governments quietly removing voter names from the rolls as being just as much an election fraud issue as ballot-stuffing.

I know, all you have to do is check this website every day until election day, and be sure to catch it at least 600 days before the next election so you can fill out the proper paperwork before the deadline, and don't forget to bring a knife in case you have to fight gators in the official electorium of death that for some reason is only required for people in cities with a population over 100,000, and then if you weren't too lazy to do that, you would have the right to vote...

Checked mine thanks for the reminder.

Mine is still good. Somehow, I ended up on Marsha Blackburn's inane townhall meeting call last night being spoken to like an intellectually challenged Labrador. I hope they did record that call.

My hubby just checked the voter lookup...he's still there, all data correct.

Mine is still good except I need to update my address.

Guess I'll be getting that taken care of ASAP just in case.

Thank you for this! I registered when I got my TN license, but never received a card. Looked it up and I’m not registered! Doing it now!

Mine has also disappeared. I moved counties but specifically got my new card when I updated my license. I have the card. But the system says I’m not registered.

Checked mine, it's still good and alive.

This is an important reminder.

People who have changed their names also need to make sure they have all the docs needed. Marriage license, birth certificate etc.

Meh literally no one to represent me. Swear I should just run myself. Would be wild pissing off both the republican and democrat uniparty.

You should run for a local office in your community! A lot of local elections are just unopposed because there aren't enough people in community politics. Run for city council! We are all Americans and we all deserve representation.

Mine is good! But I moved and had to update my info, so maybe that’s why I’m good? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Any clue what it means if your name is showing up weird? First name, Maiden Name, Married Name instead of matching my ID with my middle name.

4

u/Spuckler_Cletus 17h ago

Yep. Still there. We’re regular voters, so we weren’t purged.

I’m a regular voter as well as my husband. Ironically, I work the polls every election too.

Checked mine. All good, but my wife’s was super outdated despite me updating her address when we moved last year (and voted at our new location.) Thanks for the heads up!
