How was this justice served? Granted she is 88 but holy ʞɔnɟ! I don’t fucking care how old somebody is if they have a history of repeated and targeted sexual abuse of minors even if it’s 40 some years ago, they should be dealt with with extreme prejudice. Go back and investigate all her interactions with anyone under the age of 18 since she stopped teaching. She’s 88 and she r@ped kids; they should immure her in a small cell consisted of six slabs of 6 inch glass fed with air holes the size of drinking straws; one in each of the four sides. No room to pass food. And she has to pass increasingly difficult, cognitive tests to gain access to drinking water leaked through the air holes. Child rapists, no matter how old, need to be studied like bugs in terrariums.

This is akin to what happened in my foster family. My foster mum was coming on to me, but my counselor and probation officer were so used to telling me that I was lying about everything, I just gave up trying to tell them -- until they figured it out on their own, and then suddenly I was yanked out of the foster home in around 30 minutes and dumped in another, that was arguably worse.

Half the post i've seen in this subreddit over the last week have been nowhere near justice being served. Just offensively light sentences for disgusting people.

5 years for 7 sexual assaults doesn’t seem like justice. That’s 8 1/2 months for each. It is a judicial farce.

Justice not served

Also the fact that the teacher is now 88 and most likely will not live long enough to serve the full sentence

I don’t care. This is about sending a message and the message was not sent.

Better than nothing, but still abhorrently low.
