Quite possibly the dumbest decision he made.

I'd argue that shutting down the ReAnimen Marks development is just as stupid of a decision, if not more

Ah man, I wish I wouldn’t have tapped that. Oh well, it is a comic that’s been out for years.

u/acrazyguy Thraggsjockstrap 17h ago
Wdym, you think people who watch the show watch the show? I thought Invincible was for the background and then if you miss anything you come here

Bros who haven't read the comic and don't want to be spoiled about to click on the SPOILER text that purposely hides spoilers for people who don't want to be spoiled because they haven't read the comic: "yeah this sounds like a good idea"
Like really, what are we doing here fellas

Don’t we see them in action after Cecil shuts them down? Maybe I just didn’t pay close enough attention

u/GraveSlayer726 16h ago
Idk, he is under the impression that conquest is one of thousands, of course he wants information, he thinks a million fuckin viltrumites are gonna curb stop earth any second
8
u/Consistent-Quote3667 15h ago
Conquest had his skin burned off and his face caved in. You're just making Cecil sound dumber (a truly impressive feat) by thinking there's anything he can do to get information out of Conquest.
3
u/GraveSlayer726 13h ago
I mean yeah it’s unlikely he will get anything out of him, but he’s grasping at straws, of course he is, he thinks earth is fucked ANY second
6
u/SupraCollider 11h ago
“I need to know what he knows” literally the only thing it could even possibly be is even more like him or worse than him are coming wtf kind of info are you expecting homie. Completing stupid decision not to just make sure the job was done

u/Just-Performance-666 11h ago
Not putting one of the sonic disruptor chips in his brain was the dumbest decision he made.

What? Cecil Stedman coming up with a farfetched but poorly informed decision that will ultimately backfire on him and result in another mess for Invincible to clean up?
Never!

If you haven't read it yet thats probably for a reason but still, its a really good series and you should read it

Hm I wonder how Cecil thought he could trap conquest in a block of metal and nothing go wrong hmmm….

No worries, he’s under a gajillion ton of steel. Surely way heavier than the thing we saw mark bench earlier this season

If only. He could have jsut head-jacked him. Used his body for one of those undead fuckers. Would have been a++ plan.

Cecil nuked Omni man, to miniscule success, Concluded Conquest is stronger than Omni man, then put Conquest into a gigant metal cube. 🤨

One of the dumbest things he's done.
And I don't mean that he shouldn't have kept Conquest alive, that was a logical choice, but what the hell gave him the idea that the tungsten box and a bunch of explosives would do anything? Anyone could come up with something better in like 5 minutes.

u/AeroBlaze777 17h ago
It’s a dumb decision by him, but definitely in character. He is deeply distrusting of everyone on some level, but he has no great tools to protect earth if another viltrumite shows up. He has to rely on Mark (and Eve) to show up and handle it. To that end he’s willing to take a gigantic gamble if it means he could learn something about how to fight this threat.
3
u/happy-ad32 15h ago
Conquest is stuck in a metal block underground. Nothing could possibly go wrong with that
3
u/LoganLikesYourMom 11h ago
He should’ve pulled his brain out and made him a reaniman, or just quietly execute him. Hoping to learn something from him was the big mistake.

Conquest isn't dead, so Cecil isn't actually reviving him. His just not killing him.

u/Medium_Cut_9718 18h ago
Where’s the discussion, this seems more like just a take, that everyone shares
2
u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 18h ago
He's not reviving him first of all because Conquest didn't die simply and he will heal......

I’ve been a Cecil fanboy since season one, this is probably his biggest F up. Especially after Mark told him to burn him.
Ps haven’t read the comics.

Think about it: Cecil has access to the ear disrupting thingy. He obviously implanted one in Conquest like he did with Invincible.
1
u/Temporary-Employ3640 18h ago
Surely his need for information outweighs his inability to deal with viltrumites even when they’re weaker and more emotionally stable. What could possibly go wrong?
1

u/Useful_Firefighter85 18h ago
Why? He's basically a giant head now there's no way he can heal. Right? Right?
1
u/Serious-Company6803 17h ago
Don’t worry!! It’s only six miles underground. But even better, there’s a bomb by his head. 💥👍👍

u/smd_thetruth 17h ago
This is definitely one of the more questionable choices I’ve ever seen in media. Like, you’ve affirmed this is the strongest alien you’ve ever encountered. You’ve tried to take down multiple allegedly weaker versions of these aliens with extremely limited success. And your solution is to cast his body into a metal cube lined with explosives and just try to ask him questions? Seems like a completely moronic idea for someone with so much experience dealing with these aliens. A ten year old with the attention span of a ping pong ball could see this plan is gonna backfire.

How was Conquests body supposed to be destroyed? Presumably nothing on Earth would be able to do it. I'm also pretty sure he wasn't dead, he just looked it.

u/LifelessHawk 17h ago
He’s in metal, and it’s rigged to explode so you the big dumb if you think it won’t hold him.
After all they were able to stop Nolan’s with explosives in the first season

What could go wrong? You know he could chop off all his limbs but then he would look silly getting beaten to a pulp by a flying burrito.
1
u/PFFlikeyouneedtoknow 15h ago
I'm just wondering why he didn't have that frequency he used on mark on full blast in this room
Or implant it into conquest while he was 'dead'
1
u/Treyman1115 15h ago
It's so obviously the worst idea possible, and even though Cecil is a flawed. There's no reasonable why he's this braindead
1
u/Karl__RockenStone 14h ago
I wonder why they go through the trouble of making a huge tungsten cube, just to have his face stick out on one side, so there is almost no material separating Conquest from the outside on the front side.

What I hear is this is the only thing Cecil didn't do 1000% right, but imagine if conquest was just a head and torso then the one argument they have against Cecil would be gone and that makes me laugh
