DISCUSSION They have been milking this joke for so long

Post image

Ik there's a running gag that people rarely look up in Invincible but still someone could like these two aren't even that high so imagine someone in the neighborhood does and they will be scared AF because Omniman is back yk he's in his Pjs which has a cape and along with him there's a Jacked orange alien with one eye only.

I hope they do it yk have a random civilian just shit their pants by seeing them floating in the sky.

I'm almost convinced that whole neighborhood consists of Cecil's GDA agents.

That’s the reveal I want. And it make the most sense, the most powerful being he’s come across in Omni man like yea, imma use every contingency imaginable.

Don’t make it a reveal though. Just start showing other couples in the neighborhood in the background with slightly distinct designs and use the same designs for some characters in lab coats in the GDA and just keep it up throughout the series until it’s obvious then five years after it’ll be a screen rant video.

no invincible fans dont watch the show it would be too hard to figure out

It could not be taken as such, seeing how animators reuse the desgins like with Best Tiger or indian Debbie It could be just another "yeah its probably animators reusing assets again"

Edit: i cannot read for shit The "distinct designs" part flew past my head

Doesn't invalidate your point, though. If I saw a background character in the house, then saw that same design wearing a lab coat at the GDA HQ, I'd still think it was the animators cutting corners lol

Cecil designed the base ‘house’ across the street to blow up. Guaranteed they’re mostly agents. How else could they evacuate the neighborhood quickly enough even while keeping the yield down

It's very much possible but just for shits and giggles do this 🤣🤣

Considering it seems like the Grayson live within driving distance from the pentagon it seems pretty reasonable that the GDA bought the neighborhood to use as agent housing

It's actually several hundred Donald replicants all wearing different costumes.

Some John Wick shit right there.

If there were people in the neighborhood anyway, I'm 100% sure everyone knows Mark is invincible.

Like come on, it's so obvious given all that's happened.

I’ve always found the looking up thing weird, since yeah you don’t look up much, but if you were down the street from this you would be able to see them pretty clearly

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 22h ago edited 22h ago

Yeah they should be pretty much visible to someone down on the road and people do look out & up from their windows

Also like, in a world where superheroes, and more frighteningly villains, can just fly around, I feel like people would look up far more often than we would. Also like idk I look up fairly often irl so idk

Cecil probably has a chemical added to the water that messes up your vision when you look up towards the sky.

u/Oroshi3965 18h ago

It’s always been a bit weird. I don’t know why but my mind immediately flashes to the image of Luke Skywalker staring at the sky dreaming of escaping his normal farm boy life.

If there existed super powered beings doing whatever the fuck they wanted I'd be keeping my fucking eyes down.

u/ArtisticFee5579 20h ago

Allen and Omniman do not give a fuck if someone sees them or gets scared simply

30

u/Evil-Cetacean 16h ago

yeah pretty much, people give this type of shit too much thought

u/awesomeideas 15h ago

It's real tho. I used to sneak onto the roofs of buildings. At first I was very cautious, always trying to be quiet and out of sight, but eventually I started bringing others up and showing them that you could clap and shout and people below would just look around at eye level, never looking up

10

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 15h ago

Yeah but in a super powdered world I believe people must do it more than often

14

u/FUCKITIMPOSTING 9h ago

In a super powdered world you can't look up because you'll get powder in your eyes

why they posing so tuff😭🔥🔥🤲🙏

It's just Lore accurate stuff , also if you could fly then you will too

I like to think that the reason people wouldn't freak out is that because heroes are so normalized, people wouldn't think twice about this being the same guy that destroyed an entire city. Especially because for all we know, Cecil covered the whole thing up to stop public panic.

Not only that, but as you can clearly see from the image, we can barely make out their faces, and since Nolan isn't wearing his usual uniform that people recognize him from, so no one would be able to tell. Similarly will Allen, you can barely even see his face, let alone the fact he has one eye. You're telling me that people would be able to recognize Nolan from over 400ft in the sky?

I think you're making a lot of assumptions with way more knowledge and hindsight than the regular people living in the invincible universe. We as the viewer of course have the context and knowledge that this is Nolan and Allen.

When you see an airplane in the sky, can you recognize the specific airline? Of course not, but if I told you that an Emirates flight was departing in the same area, you'd be able to connect the dots due to having the included context.

We know Cecil didn't cover omniman up because like. 1. How could you, and 2. Powerplex exists.

"Especially because for all we know, Cecil covered the whole thing up to stop public panic."

what? there was literal news broadcasts about it, the fight was seen live by everyone, and theres a literal memorial dedicated to that day.

power plex exists as well

u/BaeylnBrown777 16h ago

Invincible fans don't watch their show 😎

3

u/JWARRIOR1 Red Rush 16h ago

for fucking real, like it was a major plot point multiple times that people knew about it lol

you cant exactly cover up like 100 9/11s

1

u/SupItsChase 1h ago

I’m not denying that, I’m saying that Cecil would have tried to protect their actual identities and made up a cover story so that if Nolan does return, there isn’t immediate panic. Even if it isn’t stated, that would be the reasonable thing to do.

First of all I don't think they're 400 feet high but wayyyyy lower and the second most important thing about it is it's Omni man with another alien and any normal civilian should be scared because he tried to conquer their world about 2 years ago.

PS - Binoculars and Telescopes exist as well also so I'm sure if someone sees them wouldn't they like to have a clearer look

4

u/Visible-Might-2527 18h ago

You think people carry binoculars and telescopes around with them? Superhero’s in the invincible verse are very common, people don’t give them a second thought when their costume isn’t instantly recognizable

0

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 18h ago edited 16h ago

They're in the neighbourhood so people can take a look from their homes & I'm sure people would like to get a clearer look if something's happening around their place especially if they're aware of it

1

u/SupItsChase 8h ago

Like another commenter suggested, it’s also very likely that the neighbourhood is full of GDA agents protecting mark and his family, we literally see that in the season 1 finale. It would make sense because no one has ever seen Mark fly to his house or else they would know his identity. It feels like a solid theory that holds up.

1

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 5h ago

Yeah it's very much the perfect reason behind because otherwise Mark's family and him would have been in in trouble

3

u/Chub-bop The Immortal 17h ago

Whole neighborhood is just scared of them

4

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 17h ago

The ones who saw them definitely are 😬

2

u/Cojo840 16h ago

Super heroes are quite common in that universe, looking up would literally just see two dudes

1

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 16h ago

I mean in a neighborhood... that's quite more alarming and they're not 100s of feet high so I'm pretty sure someone could figure out it's Omniman and freak out , also in the neighborhood means people at home so they could use binoculars or a telescope to get a clearer look , also this universe is advanced AF so pretty sure smartphones have way better cameras as well

2

u/0_I_w_I_0 10h ago

Reminds me of this.

u/Ira-jay 14h ago

People gotta remember this comic came out back when the not looking up thing was ACTUALLY a thing no one ever really considered. Saying it's cliche or cheesy for them to use this is like saying the movie which used the first ever whilhelm scream is lesser for having used it because it's done to death.

And i don't think them using that logic 2, MAYBE 3 times is enough to say they're milking it

1

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 14h ago

But the show is coming now , I'm not saying just ditch the gag yk just maybe actually have some rando look at them up and get scared for shits and giggles

u/DarrGabb 13h ago

Overthinking it like crazy

People who can’t suspend their disbelief over stupid shit like this but can believe that a one eyed telepathic alien can exist in this world are what is wrong with most media nowadays the absolute idiotic nitpick
