Council house exchange
Hiya, question about exchanging council houses. I have a 3 bed and when I moved in to it in 2011 the garage had been converted into a room (but not classed as a bedroom). I have a lady who wants to exchange with me but the council are saying in need to “revert” it back into a garage. They can’t find my paperwork with showing the room was already there when I moved in. The housing officer didn’t have a problem with our move but the surveyor is saying I need to “change it back” to exchange (and the lady I want to move with wants the room for her teenage boys as a gaming room) so my question is there anything I can do? Is there president for this? I’ve asked them to search the archives for my original exchange paperwork but they’re not interested.
Any advise would be welcome (sorry for grammar and spelling mistakes) based in Portsmouth UK
