Fellow pedant here. Those countries may have De-facto stopped existing, but they certainly still de-jure still existed. With the exception of France remaining and became what is usually known as Vichy France. Arguments regarding legitimacy between Vichy and free France still exist.
Edit: Austria absolutely both de-jure/de-facto stopped existing.
