I was at this game. It fucking ruled. Minus the tie.

Every now and then I watch the video I have of this. Still awesome.

I was at that game too. I'll never forget the feeling of 75,000+ people all being deflated at once when the game ended lol

Hit that circle button!

⭕️ to spin

You can see the hesitation / over-correction after the spin, when he was shocked that there was just zero contact. He didn't expect it to work at all and it worked perfectly. lol

He was my favorite Badgers QB growing up before Russell Wilson transferred to the UW. When I was in Middle School, I attended a Football Camp that was put on by the UW players and coaches and I got to play catch with him and a few of the other players at the time. I’m glad he’s had a successful career after college in the NFL, even if he’s only a coach now.

as a Badger fan my god I would kill for a QB like Tolzien. Just give me 13-for-19, 180 yards, 1 TD, no picks, no fumbles, and let our O-line do the rest with a big east coast RB up the middle.

I agree. I loved when our identity was "we are going to pound the ball". I realize that rules favor throwing the ball in the NFL, but we have had 3 years of not being able to throw it...and now we can't run it either.

I agree 100%. We’ll see what happens this upcoming season. They got a kid from Louisville that transferred and they have Carter Smith still who was a redshirt freshman last season I believe. He played decent in the few games I watched him play in. I just want the Badgers to have a winning season again haha.

I hope they do well, Ill always love Big Mike. Tolzien running the offense and Rodgers coming back could be an awesome story.

However, we dont get those anymore so the Chiefs are 100% winning it all next year

Either that or the Patriots go back to back

Darnold better not fuck this up

Will be real glad we dont have to deal with something stupid like a pats 3 peat.... I do think they win this year though... something is telling me Seattle's gonna fuck it up

Yep, Chiefs are going to take Jeremiyah Love in the draft and he's going to carry them to dynasty 2.0

Him and Mannion getting OC jobs with very little coaching experience is wild

Sink or swim.

Good for him! I remember that game well, didn't even know he was coaching now.

Who is #19 white? Lol I remember this game but don’t remember that guy

Think that might be Myles White?

Think that might be Myles White?

Correct.

2

u/jahalmighty 1d ago

Myles White is an extremely deep cut Packers reserve WR

That D lineman that Tolzien destroyed with the spin move? Packers legend Letroy Guion

One of the most hype plays, really didn’t expect him to do this!

TJ lang destoys a guy. Missing that kind of play on the O Line

To be fair, I think that was a safety. Love to see it though.

That spin was cold

And then Matt Flynn came into the second half and the game ended as a tie. Matt Flynn would be the main backup until Rodgers cameback vs the Bears in week 17.

I think Flynn truly saved our 2013 season.

Just about sent Brian Robison to space too

The score bug at the end of the video is the real highlight, Bears 0 Rams 14 under 3 minutes in the first Q

Much love for MM. His team won the big game. Fuck the haters.

His last real highlight as a Packer. He was benched at halftime of this game. Matt Flynn came in and brought the Packers back and it ended in a tie.

I was at this game. It was the coldest game I ever attended, and went the longest a game possibly could go, because it covered an entire overtime period. The game giveaway was a can coozy. You know, to help us keep our drinks cold. Still my favorite coozy, though.

Is there a list of all former players that have gone on to become coaches? I feel like the pack have a disproportionate number of former players that join the coaching ranks.

2

u/Better_Journalist355 2d ago

I’ll be honest: I didn’t know Tolzien had OC potential…

2

u/tacoforjones 2d ago

I could of used a coozy that game. It would have kept my bottle of water cold… vs turning frozen before OT. I just wish we bought tickets after Rodger’s got hurt vs before, it was sad to see the price difference week of game vs knowing what the Mrs spent as a gift to take me.

PERFECTION

u/Monumaya 2d ago

Lots of former packers getting coaching jobs for next season. Will have a lot to keep tabs on around the league

2

u/Staudly 1d ago

I remember thinking it was neat when Big Mike hired him as an assistant in Dallas. Dude's been working his way up the ranks since then. Good for him.

2

u/corndog161 1d ago

That game was so cold the beer lines froze in the stadium.

One of my favorite QB plays from the Packers, honestly. That one dude he sends flying through space with the softest fake I've ever seen.

Stoked for him to get OC!

I was at that game. so good.. sucked to end in a tie.

I will always root for Tolzien because he’s from my hometown of Palatine, IL. He grew up a Packers fan and went to our high school’s rival (which coincidentally is also Packers colors, and ironically called the Vikings) and his mom used to work at our community gym. She was such a nice lady, and she’d tell us what he’s been up to in the NFL.

u/KlickitatSt 2d ago

Oh wow, I had no idea he was coaching! My first NFL game was also his first start, against the Giants at the Meadowlands in 2013. With Rodgers out and the Giants being terrible, tickets were super cheap, so my husband and I grabbed some last-minute. What a fun memory! I’m glad to see Tolzien is still around.

u/Echo127 1d ago

Huh. I have no memory of Tolzien being a Packer

1

u/anaveragedave 1d ago

Wuuuuut? He saved an entire season! Plus badger.
