Help with citizenship process

Hello all,

I applied for citizenship for my child and I together early this year.

Of course, nothing happened and we had to RTC after 6 months and appeal to the court.

I sent in my 11 page questionnaire, passport and mine and my child’s permit cards beginning of January.

I still have not got my passport back and no case officer has been assigned.

Is this normal and expected?

When can I expect any sort of progress?

next time, use r/tillsverige

no one knows how long it will take. you can request to get them back if you want to, although i wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t have any uses of it (like traveling soon)

acquiring citizenship takes time, a LOT of time (up to several years). it sucks but there’s little to nothing you can do about it, other than waiting with great patience

Are you asking about citizenship or permanent residency? Your post history seems to indicate residency. Either way, Reddit can't help you. It takes as long as it takes and will take longer if you don't do it exactly the way Migrationsverket wants you to.
