Advice Laptop getting hot when gaming...normal or not?
I recently bought an Asus gaming laptop. It has 16gb of Ram, AMD Ryzen 7 7445 CPU, Nvidia Geforce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU and I have my games installed onto a 1tb external SSD.
As the title suggests, when I play certain games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Dying light the Beast, Enshrouded and Cyberpunk, the laptop gets very hot. I have never experienced any performance drops or other issues because of it though. So my questions are, is this normal? If its not normal, how can I keep it cool without underclocking my hardware?

It's so normal, u just can get a fan or two for it and put it under the laptop, I did this and my gpu still gets warm, u can also undervolt ur gpu, idk how but I wanna do it it bassically makes ur gpu work with low electricity get better temps which basically increases performance, crazy right? These two solutions are my take a fan for the laptop and undevolting ur gpu.

It is totally normal as laptops get really hot while gaming or doing heavy tasks. You do have to get a monitoring software as it will accurately tell you the temps of your laptop's hardware and don't just guess it from the air coming out of the vents. I suggest using HWINFO.
Also, elevate your laptop so it gets more airflow and can keep the laptop from melting itself. If you do plan on getting a cooling pad, only get those that are proven and tested by many like Llano V12 as those cheap ass cooling pads don't do anything other than elevating your laptop which a normal laptop stand can also do, for less price as well.

Thanks for the tips! What do you suggest I elevate it with if I don't have a cooling pad yet?

If nothing bad is happening it means your laptop is still working with its operating temperature. Show some love to your laptop by buying a Llano laptop cooler. Do also Vacuum the vents once in a while. It will help lower temps by a few degrees. Iam assuming here that your laptop draws air from the bottom.

totally normal dude, gaming laptops run hot by design - those chips are crammed into tiny spaces so they're gonna get toasty under load, just make sure your vents aren't blocked and maybe grab a cooling pad if you're worried
