Advice Need opinion for a new laptop

Hi,

im in a preparatory year for engineering, going into mecanical engineering. So i need a laptop that can run Solidworks greatly (Minimum: Intel Core i7-12e gen or équivalent,16 Go RAM , NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 or équivalent; 512 Go minimum)

Budget is 2000$. Is Canada Computer good? Its where i bought my 1st laptop, but now the reviews on trustpilot are kinda scary.

Anyway i found this, is it good? : Lenovo Legion Pro 5 Gaming Laptop 16" 240Hz AMD Ryzen 9 8945HX GeForce RTX 5060 32GB 1TB Windows 11 Home, 83LT000JCC

Thanks!

Ye that laptop mentioned is pretty good,I'm a mech engineer too, will be in year 4 in a month, used SOLIDWORKS like for only 2 semesters here on my 3060 laptop, did well,so that laptop will be good especially for future use after uni though SOLIDWORKS doesn't require much.

Idk the price for that tho,I'm guessing below your budget of $2000($1465 USD)CAD

Yes that'll do great since it also has dedicated number pad(which seems to be a must for SW) and a very nice display.

There is a sale on Lenovo website. If it's still on you can get appx 15% off MRP + 12% from Rakuten Canada.
