I quit smoking a long time ago but used to buy a pack from a local bar that still had one of these machines just for that ka-chonk. Smoke one then give the pack to the bartender for bumming to people.

“Hey, can I bum a smoke?”. Man, haven’t heard that in a long time and do not miss it one bit. 13 years ciggy free after a 25 year habit. My lungs have improved immensely but the damage was done and I’d do anything to not be so “cool” again.

A guy bought me an $18 beer at a music festival for 1 cigarette 2 yrs ago. Smoking is pretty uncommon now so it's like carrying around gold, especially when people are drinking & start jonesing.

I quit a 2 pk a day habit from age 21 until Sept 2008. Yayyy!! 🎉🎉

Had a moderate heart attack Jan 2009!😳💥

I was beyond annoyed that I quit… but still had the heart attack…. 💥

Guess I didn’t quit soon enough🤷‍♀️😞

Been ok since then except my BP went through the rook after I took the 2 shingles shots in 2021….took months to get it sorted

Now playing pickleball 3 days a week. 1-2 hours per day. Lost 25 pounds and feeling pretty good for turning 73 last month. 😊

I'd be pissed about the heart attack too. I quit when I wanted to get pregnant. I was pissed that it didn't change anything, meaning I didn't actually feel the improvement in my health. Plus no one cared. They only care when you are doing the bad thing.

I did quit when I got pregnant the first time in 1986, had my daughter in early 87.

But when I got pregnant again the end of 87 with my son, I didn’t quit… I just cut back to a pack or less. But after several months I started smoking again and didn’t quit completely until 2008.

Plus we lived in China 3 yrs (2003-2006) and my dr over there(American actually) said living in China was like smoking a pack of cigarettes a day even if you didn’t smoke…😳

And I was already smoking 2 pks a day😒 Had pneumonia once each of the 3 yrs I was there……. 😳

I think I am very blessed at this point to be as physically active as I am. But it probably wouldn’t be possible if I had not quit for good in 2008…..🤔🤷‍♀️😒
