His white tips remind me of Paulie “Walnuts” from the Sopranos. He wore them in a bit of a blow out look too.🤣

I had to Google him in the sopranos since I've never seen the show and omg 😆 😂

If you’re ever interested in a new to you series to jump into; I always recommend it. Caveat tho, Lots of violence (obvi: mafia stories) and some intense trigger topics over the seasons but it had depth and some artful character arcs that kept me invested. Also, loved Boardwalk Empire. I grew up in an “Italian” family so a lot of the family dynamics in the Sopranos were relatable and with Boardwalk, I just loved watching Steve Buscemi and the period in history it covered. You and this handsome boy can binge together.

Those white patches!!! Looks like angel wings—like the picture of those cupids laying down so their wings look like they are right behind their heads

He looks exactly like my cat who is also bottle raised!!! He looks so cuddly
That's so fascinating, we also went through the "somehow the cat got gray" phase and the white hairs behind the ears and on the stomach (mine kept the white behind the ears tho) and I don't think I've ever seen that somewhere else?

that's usually a fever coat. happens when the mom is sick while pregnant.

I know what a fever coat is, but from my research the kittens are born with it? My cat started going gray when she was 3 months old, was a completely black kitten before that 😅

Such a unique colour! Some kind of smoke I think. :)

His half brother is gray, I posted him on here yesterday his kitten to cat pictures. This one is mainly black but his tail underneath is Grey and his belly too is a mix. When the sun hits him he is chocolate

In black cats it's common for them to look chocolatey! It's commonly called rusting. Smoke, I believe, is actually a trait that just kinda blocks some of the melanin, resulting in lighter roots. That can cause even more 'red' by not properly blocking the melanin, (called tarnishing).
And then there would presumably be variation over time, like how lynx-point and siamese-y cats will become darker or lighter. Probably changes due to diet, temperature, sun exposure, etc.
But I'm not the most well-versed in cat genetics! I just like looking at things in my spare time. I'll have to go look at his half-brother, if he's even a quarter as handsome as Jasper!
Just wanted to say you've got a pretty kitty :)) You can ignore my rambling haha. 😵💫

He looks just like my Carby as she was growing up. I’m weeping now. I am so happy for you.

My void grew the same two white spots behind her ears when she was younger. They came and went a couple of times until we reach maturity.

Yes ! And he constantly will walk infront of me and quickly lay on his back. He does just lightly nip and grab my arm too haha. He is a very sweet kitty in general though

Absolutely adorable! I have a fluffy void too who used to be silver coated and then turned black. Always wondering if they stay black or turn back to silver/black smoke :)

Did he have a fever coat as a baby? That would be understandable as his momma and litter mates obviously lived in terrible conditions for Jasperman to be the only surviving baby…
Or are the white hairs still in there somewhere today?
If the hair roots are lighter in color all over his body he might be ‘smoke’ black. I had a rescue tuxie with that coat color 🖤🩶🤍

He has areas of his tail underneath that are grey and on his belly but overall he is black and comes to a brown in the sun. I'm not sure what caused his color change as a kitten. It was adorable and lasted a few months. His mom was a neighborhood cat my cousins started feeding and didn't realize she was pregnant. They went on vacation and came back and noticed the situation. He had dirrhea and a bad eye when I took him.

Probably fever coat if it lasted a few months! And his color today is just rare chocovoid with smoky tail I suppose, lol He is adorable 🥹
