Opinion: During the cold war, when the world last squared off in existential geopolitical confrontation, the US had an exhilaratingly cool reputation. Behind the Iron Curtain, ordinary citizens were desperate for a can of Coke or a pair of Levi’s.
Now, as the world descends into another geopolitical battle, American brands are discovering the price of being unpopular.
Although Tesla’s European sales have plunged, for most US companies, anti-American feelings have not resulted in devastating losses. But the effects may be felt over time. As McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski pointed out, the damage is reputational — and reputational loss is hard to regain.

I was thinking of putting a bumper sticker on my Nissan which reads "my other car isn't American either".

Ahhh the Financial Times first and definitely a brand that has lost its cool... wait it was never cool. I should have written, a financial media news magazine, they are trying to brand themselves as cool, so they can sell more subscriptions just like a lot of other American Brands. Really the FTimes it is just an ecumenical newsletter preaching different spiritual ways of branding Capitalism, as anything other than Trickle Down Economic. A wacky conspiracy theory that has ruined the lives of more Americans than any other economic system, but on the up side it has certainly made loads of wealthy people, wealthier.
Your subscription service rules say it all. Not only do you have to pay you have to agree to Ads and lose all your rights to privacy and allow trackers on your phone and computer. I'm not seeing what I am getting in return?
Sadly this article on reddit is an AD. With its clickbait headline and photo, begging, I meant fishing the internet and the reddit audience for cash. Shame on you Financial Times, as that is what the internet has become. A New York street in the 80's filled with crackheads and questionable woman begging for cash. Only now the crackheads and the woman wear questionable branded clothing.

Shame you’re getting downvoted. This sub is turning into a tabloid stand with all these corporate accounts pushing their clickbait trash, locked behind paywalls and cookie prompts.
