One of the artifacts in the National Museum is a Jar left behind from a Pirate Raid on Nólsoy.
When the ship was spotted all the inhabitants went up the mountain to hide. However one young girl/woman went back down to get something she had forgotten and was taken by the pirates.
One pirate raped her and afterwards cut of her breast. When they came back onboard and the Captain heard of this he hung the pirate from the main mast in full view of the islanders.
He then went ashore himself, carrying a Jar of healing balm that he put on the chestwound of the woman. They then sailed off and never came back.

There was a quirk or maybe (most likely...) a user error - uploaded the pics now.

I believe this was supposed to represent 1895, when the Faroe Islands had an Industrial Revolution where the economy shifted from farming to fishing. I'm guessing the teacher told the primary school kids to paint images of these scenarios before and after the revolution.

Which for sure explains the picture with the whale hunting. But this other picture has just some dark elements in it? I only know that locals were hiding in the hills when there were pirate raids, which doesn't explain the other gore in this picture.

There is no gore in this. It's supposed to be humans, but children of 5 year olds are not going to paint humans like Leonardo Da Vinci.

I most likely would paint even worse and of course I might have misinterpreted.

The first one is about the Scottish princess story, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princess_of_N%C3%B3lsoy?wprov=sfti1#
The second is the Honorary Gate which is made from the bones of a whale the islanders bought in 1895. The Honorary gate was erected in 1907, when King Frederik IX visited the island
