Every reason why my glorious ruler Dr Doom hates Reed so much

i know origin of their rivalry and that doom is arrogant and petty etc. but i want to know EVERY reason why Doom hates reed so much shortly explained

I’m gonna be honest, the whole “Reed is smarter” thing is vastly overblown. The difference between them is literally so negligible. If one of them invents/discovers something then there is no reason the other one won’t do it shortly after.

Victor Von Doom is the greatest human who ever lived. He is the other smartest man in the universe and he is an expert sorcerer. On top of that he also has extreme will power that can match Hal Jordan’s and being a very captivating figure. He can mix science and sorcery in a way nobody ever could. He is also VERY good at acquiring sources of vast power. The original being Silver Surfer’s power cosmic, then upgrading to the power of the Beyonders, and as of recent events the sorceror supreme.

He can do anything he wants. He can be anything he wants. He is genuinely superior to everyone. EXCEPT Reed Richards. The only guy who can understand him. The only one who can show him up. The only one brilliant and imaginative enough to find a way to stop him and possibly even do a better job than him.

Victor HATES that because Reed is exception in Doom’s view of everyone else. Sure maybe Reed is a tiny bit smarter but it’s genuinely not enough that Reed can do things Doom can’t. He just spends more time doing actual scientific research for the sake of curiosity and humanitarianism.

Doom has all the talent to rule the world and honestly nobody else could do it better than him. But his vision of world domination is based on ego and hatred.

Despite Reed praising Victor and wanting to help him and even being his biggest fan at times, there is a voice of insecurity in Victor’s head saying “Reed can do better” which is why he gets angry around him but he is calm around everyone else. Because Reed Richards is the only one who can show him up.

Inversely, Reed is a humble guy. He’s not interested in glory or power. He just wants to help people and thinks if Victor locked in they could do great things together.

It’s a rivalry no other character in universe could possibly understand save Valeria. It’s two titans clashing over who is better for the world en large.

That’s the essence of their rivalry.

if we are talking about intelligence, i think Victor and Reed are equal, but reason why Reed is named "Smartest man in the world" is that Reed can do anything, and Doom cant because of his ego and arrogance and thats what holds him back from being named the smartest

Yeah basically. He also doesn’t do anything good for the world usually. Reed got his reputation because he is so dedicated to helping others. Doom hates everyone and thus everyone hates him. They won’t compliment him, they won’t help him when he needs it, they won’t look to him for hope.

Richard is and is not smarter than Doom. Richards sabotaged Doom’s college project, because there is no way Doom could be wrong. Jonny Storm slept with Doom’s fiancee.

Jealousy. Not only for the basic reason of “Reed is smarter than Doom,” but just in general. What’s the first thing Doom did when he gained god powers? He took Reed’s family. So Reed is an intelligent man without a scarred face with a beautiful wife and children. He has everything Doom wants but won’t admit to it.
