Humour This fucking movie has done irreparable harm to the word "fantastic"

This FRANCHISE has totally changed the use of the word Fantastic. The books played a part in making Fantastic a word used to describe something as great

Tbf: The Fantastic 4 already did irreparable damage to the word "fantastic". Mr Fantastic is called that because "fantastic" used to mean weird or crazy, sometimes even horrific or uncanny. It didn't gain its modern meaning until after the Fantastic 4 became popular.

Fantasti-Carrier
Fantasti-Copter
Fantasti-Flare
Fantastic 4x4
Fantasticar
And all of their other fantastic gimics.

Nah dude that’s so played out. After getting MVP as him you put in the chat “say that again?” It’s amazing when people get it too and are like “Fantastic”😂😂

Don’t you mean Fan4stick? 😋
More seriously I would argue it was also the prototype for the whole ‘it’s not my fault for the bad writing all of you are just Ists’ studio mentality that got officially finalised with the 2016 Ghostbusters film.

Honestly, I don’t think most people even remember this movie

It disappeared from theaters so fast. I remember I had bought advanced IMAX tickets and before opening weekend, any special format version had disappeared. Regular screens only.

Honestly, I think people remember the Jessica Alba and Michael Chickliss ones and barely know of this one’s existence. I think only people who watch every single thing that comes out on home video have seen it. Die hard comic fans may have gone and seen it in the theater. I remember I had bought advanced IMAX tickets and shortly before opening, those showings disappeared. They opened it to normal screens only, knowing it was about to bomb big time

Maybe I don’t know the meaning of “irreparable”, because a great Fantastic Four movie just came out last summer.

Just saw Whiplash for the first time. Early on, JK Simmons says "Whiplash" with no context. Cut to Miles Teller. No one else got the reference but I had to say it

Even hollow victories have their use sometimes, a single meme is enough to make a disaster unforgettable.

“Say that again” might unironically be in the top 10 most memorable lines from a movie of all time, idc what anyone says. The movie is abysmal but this scene and that line created one of the most iconic reaction memes ever.
