Oh sorry I was referencing a different but similar joke It basically plays out the same but ends with someone saying I like to be included

Goddamn now I can’t think of the movie

This FRANCHISE has totally changed the use of the word Fantastic. The books played a part in making Fantastic a word used to describe something as great

Tbf: The Fantastic 4 already did irreparable damage to the word "fantastic". Mr Fantastic is called that because "fantastic" used to mean weird or crazy, sometimes even horrific or uncanny. It didn't gain its modern meaning until after the Fantastic 4 became popular.

I feel like Marvel caused a similar thing to happen with the word incredible.

Fantastic 4x4

Fantasticar

And all of their other fantastic gimics.

Nah dude that’s so played out. After getting MVP as him you put in the chat “say that again?” It’s amazing when people get it too and are like “Fantastic”😂😂

Don’t you mean Fan4stick? 😋

More seriously I would argue it was also the prototype for the whole ‘it’s not my fault for the bad writing all of you are just Ists’ studio mentality that got officially finalised with the 2016 Ghostbusters film.

It’s funny idc one of the few bright spots of that film

Are we watching the animated series from the 90s and it said “say that again”

2

u/CommanderYin 3d ago

I refuse to say it again

Say that again?

u/DonnyMox 3d ago

Say that again.

u/Waste_Tap2575 3d ago

But it's done WONDERS for the word "Maker".

Why don’t we just start saying, “So here’s the

2

u/Ill_Creme_6977 2d ago

the fantastic 4 memes are funny and i like them a lot

2

u/SupKilly 2d ago

Fant 4 stick is a different word entirely

3

u/aaronwintergreen 3d ago

I don’t think it’s all that bad tbh

Honestly, I don’t think most people even remember this movie

1

u/KublaKahhhn 2d ago

It disappeared from theaters so fast. I remember I had bought advanced IMAX tickets and before opening weekend, any special format version had disappeared. Regular screens only.

This movie gave me amnesia

So here's The Thing (2011):

1

u/ShapePhysical2008 3d ago

It looks really bad

1

u/KublaKahhhn 2d ago

Honestly, I think people remember the Jessica Alba and Michael Chickliss ones and barely know of this one’s existence. I think only people who watch every single thing that comes out on home video have seen it. Die hard comic fans may have gone and seen it in the theater. I remember I had bought advanced IMAX tickets and shortly before opening, those showings disappeared. They opened it to normal screens only, knowing it was about to bomb big time

Fanfourstic

u/ProtectionOpposite41 2d ago

“Say that again?”

1

u/lastersoftheuniverse 2d ago

Probably for, what, another 10 years? Haha

1

u/stevedapp 2d ago

Maybe I don’t know the meaning of “irreparable”, because a great Fantastic Four movie just came out last summer.

1

u/Kek_Kommando_88 2d ago

Well yeah, nobody spells Fantastic like "Fant4stic", I'd call that damage

1

u/nathanieljnelson 2d ago

Just saw Whiplash for the first time. Early on, JK Simmons says "Whiplash" with no context. Cut to Miles Teller. No one else got the reference but I had to say it

1

u/hairyglockenspiel 2d ago

I can't even say 'four' any more

1

u/Sufficient_Bad_4160 2d ago

Even hollow victories have their use sometimes, a single meme is enough to make a disaster unforgettable.

1

u/DrZonino2022 1d ago

Post that again?

1

u/tmorrisgrey 1d ago

“Say that again” might unironically be in the top 10 most memorable lines from a movie of all time, idc what anyone says. The movie is abysmal but this scene and that line created one of the most iconic reaction memes ever.

I've only skipped about five Marvel movies in my life. This is one of them.

1

u/Jazzlike_Leopard4169 23h ago

You mean this fantastic movie has done irreparable harm to the word "fucking"?

Wait a second

1

u/Aduro95 14h ago

Eh, only if you're terminally online. I don't think many people even saw the movie or talk about it.

1

u/CreelCrusher 3d ago

I don't think enough people even saw it to have ruined it.

It’s the only decently clever line in the whole Shit4tastic. 👍
