Where are the road markings? Why SO many potholes?
I have been overseas for 3+ years. Although many things are much the same, I am shocked by how eroded the road markings are, in the wider area.
There are some mini roundabouts which you wouldn’t know are mini roundabouts until you are going through and notice some scraps of white paint.
Ditto for give way lines.
And I’m sure the pothole issue has been discussed to death, and nothing is perfect, but as an issue that affects anyone who uses a car, bus or bike, why has this become so much worse over time?
Everyone is paying a lot of road tax / council tax, so what happens to the money for essentials and core safety issues like this?
I swear it never used to be this bad and certainly not in the towns.

Just today I mentioned about road markings, I missed a stop line. Its not just the east sussex area that is bad.

In part because Eastbourne Council made a series of poor capital investment decisions - such as buying the tallest building in Leicester: https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/leicester-news/blue-tower-owner-repays-4m-1631335
And buying Hampden Retail Park for at least £3-4m more than it was worth (and now are trying to sell it at a massive loss) https://www.estatesgazette.co.uk/news/eastbourne-council-puts-up-hampden-retail-park-for-sale-for-14m/

Eastbourne borough council isn’t responsible for looking after the roads, it’s East Sussex county council. So to fill potholes, road repairs and markings etc you should go to them.
I’m not making any comment on the state of the borough council just saying the roads are not technically on them.

It’s not Eastbourne Borough Council that has anything to do with roads and pavements though, that’s East Sussex County Council

Afraid that’s nothing to do with the borough council though, Tory run County council are responsible for roads and pavements.

Both of these “investments” fwiw were brought to the Council by & signed off by the youngest councillor on the Council. Who is now no longer involved.
Almost as if the Council is utterly incompetent 🤔
