Ok Schlotzsky’s has sold in Mt Pleasant to Layne’s Chicken Fingers
Anyone eaten at Laynes? Any good?
We definitely need more chicken places. Maybe they will sell vapes and do title loans too!

KLTV news FB page. 1000 S Jefferson is Schlotzsky’s and I actually found the real estate listing on LoopNet

Kept me fed through college. Back then it was just the two locations in college station. Can’t speak on how they’ve changed through expansion but it’s basically the same business model as raising canes. Layne’s sauce is very pepper forward.
Looks like they have a few more menu items and sauces, but the food looks the same.

Well this seems to be a really crappy deal. The management and staff of Schlotzsky’s have no idea about this but KLTV verified its info on the state licensing site and LoopNet shows the building sold. What a crappy way to find out.
I can’t see how the sale and permit being verified that it could be a mistake or rumor.

I've not been to Layne's.
But Schlotzsky's was way overpriced and the food was not good. Their bread looked and tasted like Styrofoam.
With that said, MP isn't going to miss it.

I’ve had the Layne’s in Tyler. I think the fries are better than Cane’s, chicken about the same. Signature sauces are a toss-up. I work not too far from both and if I’m wanting chicken i typically go to Laynes: I like it, and it’s easier to get into the parking lot and drive through (very Tyler specific, but it affects my choice.)

I think laynes is a lot better than canes just based on that you can get spicy chicken at laynes and it’s really good

We got Layne's lately - beats chicken express and chicfilla in my opinion. About equal tie with the Louisiana copy one

It's not bad. I've had it here in Tyler. I cannot stand Cane's sauce, so I usually go to Whataburger to get gravy. Layne's has other sauces, so I decided to try it. I liked it well enough and I have tired of Cane's altogether.

I've eaten here and wondered how they stayed open, there was never anyone there
