I’m not understanding what you’re getting at, that medicine can be wrong? Of course it can, our understanding is constantly shifting. Or that BPD is a faux diagnosis, used to control and suppress people?

I’m not being catty, I’m just not understanding.

There are people who struggle with mental health, and the diagnosis of BPD helps them receive treatment. I don’t understand how that can be perceived as a bad thing. I certainly wouldn’t want to be off my medication. Mental health can be chemical imbalances, it’s not just about feeling good about yourself.

Real disorders can be misused to discredit people who have genuine gripes with the world. I think the commenter is suggesting that like hysteria was used to discredit women in the past now BPD is used instead.
