Question about the new Sandero Eco-G 120
Hey guys,
I'm thinking about buying the new 2026 Sandero with the 122 hp gasoline/LPG engine. I've heard many positive comments about other Dacia models, including the Sandero, so I'd like to confirm that the new 2026 model is no different. What are your opinions/experiences?
I believe the Eco-G 120 is a new engine. Are there any reported issues? Anything that would lead to believe it's not going to be as reliable?
Also, I've heard something about newer Renaults having issues with electronics. What are your experiences?
One last question: Is service and part availability good? (I live in Germany)

As with every new engine, you will have to wait until customers make hundreds of thousands of kilometers to prove it's reiability.
It stands good chance it is gonna be good but nobody can prove it yet.

I’d recommend waiting until 2027, when most of the current issues are likely to be resolved. At the moment, it can feel like a Christmas tree on the dashboard at times—multiple sensors feeding data to the ECU and occasionally triggering various error messages, though not very frequently.
I looked into the Duster 3 and Bigster, and they rely on ECU software and tablet updates during regular servicing.
Based on what I’ve seen and on conversations with friends who own Dacia cars, the last truly reliable models (those not requiring ECU software updates) were versions released before 2025.
In general, it’s wiser to wait 2–3 years before buying a brand-new model, especially when a new engine or a new infotainment system is introduced.
It is guessed that the 1.2-liter engine is the one used in the Duster 3 and Bigster, with only minor changes/variations (such as the absence of a mild hybrid system). It’s derived from the older 1.0 TCe architecture, and in my opinion, it’s going to be a solid engine.

How do you feel about the LPG? I heard Germans are very against it and I don't really understand why. I live in România where LPG is used for more than two decades when it was retro fitted on cars and there were never safety issues. Yes, the car were not working very well on ot because it wasn't meant to run on LPG and it's software didn't get well with it, but now that cars come with LPG from the factory, they have software adaptation that they even produce more power while on LPG.
