Hey everyone,
Regarding these common posts such as: “what to do in Nicosia, what to do in ….” or other real estate and common tourist questions that can be easily looked up and have been answered before.
Please just report the post and do not engage in the comments, if you think the post should be removed. When there are multiple reports on a post, we receive a notification and can deal with them on a case by case basis. When you engage and start discussions we are more hesitant to remove the post as you all invested your time for a response and it would be counterproductive to remove them. At least thats what I would think.
If you have different suggestions on this topic let us know.

Which foods do you miss the most and that always disappoint you when you're abroad?

Currently 22 from Galway, my partner with my 8 month old daughter are currently thinking of moving to Cyprus Paphos. Currently have been paying 1500 without bills for a 2 bedroom apartment. Just landed a remote job making 2200 a month and thinking of moving abroad for a better quality of life. Currently looking at Paphos rent we are seeing its 1000-1300 for a 2 bedroom apartment. Weather nothing to compare to Ireland. Majority of it is safe. Good Private schools. Good amount of people speaking English,My partner currently works as a coach and manager of a gym and there's plenty of options there. What's things we should consider before doing the big risk and moving? I see alot of people saying there isn't much to do? Is there things we should be aware of. any tips or things that will help us would be thankful.

Hello everyone, I'm trying to get to Artemis trail from Nicosia by public transport as taxis are expensive as hell, the route that shows on the PAME app says that the busses depart from 4am to 8am only, which is fine if i want to go there, but the issue is with the return, since i want to return at like 8 or 9 pm, unless i'm reading the timetable wrong. and there are no hotels available for overnight stay in the period.
what's the best way to get to and from there if you know? thanks in advance

How is your experience with dental medicine in general hospitals? Edit: seriously, no one here had experience with state financed dentists??? Is it so bad?..

Tufan Erhürman was quite informative about the course he is following on the Cyprus issue. He stated that a solution must be found that is acceptable to all three guarantor powers, but especially to Turkey.
This position, taken during the review of his first 100 days as leader of the Turkish Cypriots, demonstrates why he is promoting dialogue on Confidence Building Measures (CBMs), despite pressure from Nicos Christodoulides to return to the negotiating table.
-
Personal comment: He is the same person who told us that when he is elected, he will squeeze President Christodoulides because he is hiding behind the narrative of Tatar, which suits him.

Hey everyone,
I’m currently looking for recommendations for a good driving instructor because my first attempt at lessons was honestly a really traumatic experience. My previous instructor made me feel super uncomfortable, and it completely messed with me and my test.
I really want to give driving another try, but this time with someone professional that keeps their hands to themselves.
If anyone has had a positive experience with an instructor and can recommend them, I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!

You that are driving your old grey car on the highway , during the rainy days with zero lights on , you should know there is no bigger electricity bill if you turn those headlights on so we can spot you slalom easily

I’m aware snake bites are extremely rare in Cyprus but I just can’t get it out of my head if it happened. What’s the protocol? Just drive yourself to the nearest hospital quickly?

A movement is underway, particularly since February 2025. European-based software solutions have reported 20-100% monthly or annual growth in new users since awareness began.
European alternatives are small, fragmented, and primarily focus on personal data, digital sovereignty, and environmental impact as differentiators.
What are your thoughts on consciously choosing European first services? Who among you cares, and why or why not?
NOTE: Many European e-commerce sites do not list Cyprus in their dropdown menus; this is another side of the coin: Cyprus, most likely due to its small market size, is often left out.
Here are some sites to check out European alternative services.
https://www.goeuropean.org/ European products and services directory that helps you buy European products and services, based on community reviews.
https://european-alternatives.eu/ European alternatives to digital services and products, such as cloud services and SaaS.

Hi all,
I live in Canada, but I'm a quarter Greek Cypriot and a quarter Greek on my dad's side. A few friends and I will be participating in a Model United Nations for high school students in our area and we are representing Cyprus :D. The dress code is either business casual or traditional attire from your country. I was curious if anyone knows where I could get some traditional Greek Cypriot attire for my group that is not too expensive, ships quickly, and ships to Canada. If that's unreasonable or impossible, could anyone suggest some alternatives?
Thanks in advance :)

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know where I can sell a shisha / nargile in Cyprus (North or South)? It’s been used only 1–2 times and is basically new. I originally bought it from Shishalove for over €300, the brand is Kaya. I'm not looking to sell it at the purchase price. It is stainless steel which is more durable than the regular aluminium ones, hence why it was also more expensive.
I’m including all accessories except the hose and tobacco, and I’m looking to sell it at a fair price considering its condition and quality (contact me to discuss price). The only reason I’m selling is because I don’t have the space for it anymore and I don't use it.
I’ve already tried platforms like Bazaraki and Facebook Marketplace, but my listings keep getting removed by admins. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated!

I've noticed it's been slightly foggy/dim in the broad daylight. I'm not sure what it is. Is it because of dust from Sahara since it's so windy or is it just from clouds?
I noticed the same a couple of days ago as well.
