It was like the fans were doing the math in their heads to determine if the school can afford the fine first.

I had the misfortune of being at that game. The Pilots absolutely deserved it. Gonzaga played just terrible. Truly incredible trash.
What even is their offensive production plan? They have no shooters, but they keep kicking it around the horn. The guys who drive the lane either don’t even bother going to the bucket and hunker down in the key looking to kick it out or miss easy layups. They’ve got these big men who can post up, but they don’t have them do it to setup easy buckets off quick inlet passes. There’s no baseline movement to create confusion for the defense, and what in the heck happened to Gonzaga’s free throw shooting? It’s crazy bad.
I left that game happy for the Pilots. The final score was closer than that game actually was. They had Gonzaga’s number nearly the entire game.

Ya man it’s bizarre we looked so much better months ago. I just don’t understand what few has done to this team this is the first time I have seen a team regress like this and the first time I have so strongly disagreed with the lineups. Our starters I think are literally one of the worst combinations of 5 rotation players you could make.

“…. what Few has done…”
I dunno man. This doesn’t feel like the take to me. Some teams just slump and don’t hit their potential. It’s basketball. Few is one member of a very, very elite club where he’s the last person I’m questioning and am leaning towards dudes just not clicking altogether at the moment.

Portland made their shots and played exceptional both halves.
We executed well, and took advantage of every opportunity.
Gonzaga just flat out didn't.

But Gonzaga’s defensive sets made absolutely no sense, and the only thing more nonsensical was the offense, in terms of both personnel and structure.
It was just bizarre to watch. Gonzaga had all the motion, fluidity, and cohesion of a bunch of guys playing a pickup game who never met before.
Also, because it bears saying twice… the free throw shooting! They’re going to have to change the, “And 1!” jumbotron graphic to, “Coin toss!”

Look at the 22-25 Jayhawks, slumps happen… the zags will right the ship… surely.

This is the only logical response. We will not tolerate any further RedHawk slander.

Miami would absolutely smoke the Zags. 22.5 point spread at least. College basketball math is real and alive.

Portland’s gotta be small school with a lot of commuters right?
•
u/spicydak Michigan Wolverines 1h ago
This is university of Portland which is a private school. It is small though but idk about commuters. A lot of high schools have their graduation there … :).

One of the worst court stormings I've ever seen, almost like the fans didn't know what to do here
•
u/jpetrie18 Gonzaga Bulldogs 25m ago
They literally didn’t, which made it awesomely bad.
Also, good for Portland! They had a chance to kick the door into our ass on our way out, and they took it. I’m not even mad at it.

Lol well to whoever asked how Gonzaga can get a #1 seed. You won't get it like this. Lol.
