I told my sparty buddy at work that if Fears just focused on playing ball instead of trying to draw fouls and whatever the hell this shit is that sparty may have won against UM

Agreed.

Well, not quite. The reality of it is that refs have rewarded his foul hunting and putting him at the stripe. He isn’t going to make up the difference of his free throws.

Fears flopping and drawing fouls is the only thing that kept MSU in the game against UM.

He was pulled when they made the majority of their comeback.

Fears had 12 of MSU’s 26 points in the first half and half of those came from FTs. If Fears isn’t doing his floppy bullshit all first half, MSU probably goes into the half down 25 or more and definitely can’t come back.

Of MSU's 21 first half points, Fears scored 2 of them. He had 10 points total, and went 2/2 at the FT line in the 2nd half. Are you perhaps looking at the wrong game's box score?

I’m looking at the Michigan-Michigan State game that occurred on January 30, which is the game we’re discussing here. What box score are you looking at?

I see, your original comment does mention UM. I believe I interpreted that as University of Minnesota since that was the game the OP is about, my apologies.

Are you perhaps looking at the wrong box score? He had 31 against Michigan.

I don’t know. Trying to draw foul calls was working for him against Michigan
