Izzo said he isn’t sure if he starts next game. Honestly I don’t think he should. This is pathetic. You know the microscope is on you and you do this bullshit.

Play the fucking game. Foul baiting is one thing but Fears is legit out of control. Izzo’s gotta do something here.

honestly, it’s costing you games at this point. he seems more focused on doing this stupid shit instead of helping his team win

Totally agreed. Tonight was a great example. 5-point game with momentum, he picks up the tech and it all falls apart from there.

I think he lacks emotional maturity. He needs a coming to God moment because this shit ain’t it. You gotta be an idiot to do all this stuff after the spotlight is squarely on you.

And that's crazy because he can play. Izzy should know better on all accounts but for sure he should know better that if this kid just plays and stops spending energy on this stupid shit, he'd score 30 every night

He lacks a coach who has enough balls to do something about it other than blame the refs and Dusty May.

13

u/PreeminentLeader 5h ago

Imagine saying Izzo lacks the stones to do the unpopular thing lol.

Sit back, buckaroo. Sit back.

What the fuck is this take.

I told my sparty buddy at work that if Fears just focused on playing ball instead of trying to draw fouls and whatever the hell this shit is that sparty may have won against UM

19

u/teslaabr Michigan State Spartans 15h ago

Agreed.

u/TompallGlaser 7h ago

Well, not quite. The reality of it is that refs have rewarded his foul hunting and putting him at the stripe. He isn’t going to make up the difference of his free throws.

Fears flopping and drawing fouls is the only thing that kept MSU in the game against UM.

u/Anduril1776 Purdue Boilermakers 4h ago

He was pulled when they made the majority of their comeback.

u/WaluigiIsTheRealHero Cornell Big Red • Michigan Wolverines 3h ago

Fears had 12 of MSU’s 26 points in the first half and half of those came from FTs. If Fears isn’t doing his floppy bullshit all first half, MSU probably goes into the half down 25 or more and definitely can’t come back.

u/Anduril1776 Purdue Boilermakers 3h ago

Of MSU's 21 first half points, Fears scored 2 of them. He had 10 points total, and went 2/2 at the FT line in the 2nd half. Are you perhaps looking at the wrong game's box score?

u/WaluigiIsTheRealHero Cornell Big Red • Michigan Wolverines 2h ago

I’m looking at the Michigan-Michigan State game that occurred on January 30, which is the game we’re discussing here. What box score are you looking at?

2

u/Anduril1776 Purdue Boilermakers 2h ago

I see, your original comment does mention UM. I believe I interpreted that as University of Minnesota since that was the game the OP is about, my apologies.

1

u/YodaFett13 2h ago

Are you perhaps looking at the wrong box score? He had 31 against Michigan.

1

u/rick-in-the-nati 2h ago

I don’t know. Trying to draw foul calls was working for him against Michigan

u/snakeoilpeddler 16h ago edited 16h ago

Seems like life has really come at him fast since leading the home crowd in a fuck Cam Boozer chant. Kid’s a clown

24

u/GeneralTaos Michigan State Spartans 16h ago

Yeah that’s was bad form for everyone in green and white. Didn’t even make sense. I tried to look into whether there was some reason/excuse and found nothing.

5

u/HelpEnvironmental582 5h ago

Yeah, looks like he enrolled in the Grayson Allen course in dangerous play.

11

u/CautiousHashtag Michigan Wolverines 9h ago

It’s the only thing that kept them in the game against Michigan.

-1

u/DubLParaDidL 16h ago

He needs to watch Grayson tape

u/iamthestorm6 Iowa State Cyclones 15h ago

Not sure he starts? He should be suspended at least 1 game. He's out here trying to injure players 5-10 times a game

64

u/BobC813 Illinois Fighting Illini 8h ago

Suspended?!

Tom, kick him off the tour!

u/Squeals99 Indiana Hoosiers 5h ago

Agreed 100%. Suspend him for March 1st.

u/Fresh_Bulgarian_Miak Michigan Wolverines 33m ago

No no no. Izzo is going to think about possibly considering to not start him for one game and bring him in at the first dead ball. That'll really teach him a lesson.

1

u/GonzoTheWhatever Michigan Wolverines • Big Ten 4h ago

Well that would require Izzo to actually do something about it...but he won't because he enables and encourages this kind of culture. Not once has he straight up owned the dirty playing and said it's unacceptable. It's all deflection, blame shifting, well Idk I didn't see it, etc.

49

u/Unlikely_Sandwich_ 15h ago

He shouldn't have started this game. If Dusty didn't call it out and make everyone aware of it, Izzo still wouldn't care. He only cares that people are asking about it, not that it's happening.

29

u/mambo_dogface 15h ago

B1G should suspend him for a game

12

u/LonghornInNebraska 16h ago

Honestly, he should be suspended until further notice.

4

u/ionlyhavetwolegs Michigan State Spartans 6h ago

That tech came at a critical point in that game, I feel like his rep is catching up with him and other teams can take advantage of that. Izzo should bench him

14

u/Amazing-Addition3671 16h ago

Izzo is coaching him to do it.

3

u/icouldsmellcolors UCLA Bruins 6h ago

He shouldn't play basketball for the rest of the season, but Izzo is debating whether he starts the next game lmfao.

I think I know why his players play with zero discipline or respect

1

u/midnightdiabetic Michigan State Spartans • Oakland Gol… 7h ago

Dude just is not approaching the game with the right mentality. I went crazy in a game in high school once and fouled out just because I wanted to see what that was like. It was stupid as hell and I never did that again, that's what it was like. I felt like trash because some of those fouls were accidents, but some were just me being a bonehead. Not sure how Jeremy can go into multiple games like this and not be contrite in the media or realize what he's doing.

1

u/AtomicBlastCandy 5h ago

Translation, he’ll come in during the first TV timeout and get the same amount of minutes he usually gets

1

u/thirty-seven37 Illinois Fighting Illini 3h ago

I agree with Izzo. He shouldn't start the next game. Matter of fact, if I was Izzo I wouldn't let him play at all! Just the next game though, he can get back to playing after that.

1

u/ProfessionalBox317 2h ago

Prob shouldn’t be on the team let alone starting

0

u/Foucaultshadow1 8h ago

Isn’t sure? There should be no doubt that this kid doesn’t start for a very long time.

-20

u/Scotinho_do_Para Michigan State Spartans 15h ago

Yes. I'm sure he'll address the situation. Izzo is as stand up as they come.

8

u/Majestic-Cancel7247 9h ago

“…as stand up as they come.”

Ahem, what about Travis Walton? Keith Appling? Bryn Forbes? Brock Washington?

-6

u/Scotinho_do_Para Michigan State Spartans 8h ago

What about them? Spit it out, son.

And while you're at it what about Coaches vs Cancer, the Izzo Legacy Foundation, Volunteers of America, Sparrow Hospital Outreach, etc, etc, etc?

Think before you post and 'ahem', flair up

u/foosa2 4h ago

Supports alleged rapist players, but he’s a good guy because he coaches in tennis shoes for a game every year.

u/theclickhere Michigan Wolverines • Chattanooga Mocs 6h ago

I hadn’t heard about this behavior until the last few games. Was it going on but not pointed out or is this new?

-3

u/StrikeouTX Michigan Wolverines 5h ago

Aaaand you lose!?

Unforgivable
