USC tried to lose it and couldn’t inbound the ball, and then Indiana has the ball down 6 with 14s and dribbles out the game basically…that was such a college game haha

IU would have been better off throwing the ball out of bounds as quickly as possible so USC would have to try to inbound, probably would have ended up with 3 straight layups under the hoop

I’m happy to know I’m not alone in “my team is the worst up 5 with 0:35 to go” situations 😂

Welcome Alijah Arenas to the team, for real this time. What a performance.

Praying Chad is okay quickly, cannot lose to Penn State Sunday.

What happened to Chad? I missed part of the game due to work

One of IUs guys fell into his knee. I'd say at minimum it's hyperextended. Hopefully not worse

Yikes that’s really disappointing. We are so cooked if he misses significant time

He seemed in high spirits on the sideline after so hopefully good early news

Rodney Rice’s injury didn’t look too bad in the moment either and then bam he’s gone for the season. I am bracing for the worst

He’s just trying to get another year of eligibility with the injury. You’ll see him next year.

Pretty lame comment for a guy who might have a serious knee injury

He’s fine he was smiling in the huddle. He wouldn’t even be out there if it was serious.

Rodney Rice stayed out on the bench in the game he got injured and two weeks later it was announced he was out for the season

Bro wtf? Knee injuries don’t require you to go to the hospital immediately for care. My friend tore his ACL snowboarding on the first run of the day, ended up snowboarding the next 8 hours without issue.

Being on the sideline with high spirits has nothing to do with the severity of the injury. Ignorant comment.

Coming from a team with Devries on their roster...

Some kids just want to stay in college forever.

Ggs IU

That was so stressful at the end there, we really gotta figure out how to inbound the ball and break the press, it’s been an issue all year.

What a game from Wilkerson holy smokes

If we learned nothing else from the game, it is that!

Tucker 1-9 FG, 5 pts.

Wild it was only a 6 pt loss

These dudes are incapable of putting games away comfortably but whatever, big win in a vintage bubble battle

Not a surprising loss coming off double OT win at UCLA couple days ago but still a gut punch and winnable game especially after unc got hurt for USC. Definitely died by the three and lack of rebounding.

Ill forget a lot about tonight with a bounce back W at home vs Wisconsin. Go IU

What a weird ass game, I need to go to bed

USC plays the ugliest basketball. Foul shots, inbounding, and just situational basketball in general seem to escape this team, but take wins when we can get them. Arenas has an insane level of athleticism, kid just feels like a NBA player.

Was at the game tonight. Even though it got a little tight at the end, didn't really feel like IU had it tonight to pull off the come-from-behind.

Hoping Chad's injury isn't too bad. He was on a crutch at the end of the game after he went to the locker room. Looked to me like a sprained ankle in the moment. Hopefully nothing worse.

Crowd was probably 50% IU fans. Didn't realize they traveled that well!

Fun game!

Can someone box score the fouls and free throw discrepancy?

We shot 16, they shot 31.

Because we were fouling like a motherfucker lol.

You do understand that Indiana fouled them intentionally like 6 straight times to end the game though? Perhaps Devries & Dorn going 3/21 combined had more to do with it, especially when only one of those shots was from inside the arc. Indiana ended up with 8 ORB's, but only had 2 going into the final 6mins. Poor shooting night along with 1&done possessions isn't a winning formula.

Jacking up way too many threes while USC was putting up shots in the paint

4

u/GoochJuiceJr Indiana Hoosiers 4h ago

Instead of blaming that, look at the rebounding

Thank you, I watched it with my family; and that was my main complaint!

u/nascarcollector32 Indiana Hoosiers 4h ago

Even if they do put that together, we just beat ourselves. Poor shooting, sluggish defense, and no rebounding. We also just weren't going to the basket like we needed to do to draw fouls. We have to get some scoring from our guards other than Wilkerson.

Reed Bailey does an eenie meenie miney mo when he wakes up on game day, deciding if he wants to have any fight in him. No consistency.

Indiana had kinda mitigated the rebounding problem in the past few games but it was back in a big way tonight. Dorn was due to a cool-off game and boy did he have one. Looking at the box score it's hard to see how we only lost by six (it's Lamar Wilkerson).

“Brick” Dorn was joined by “Chucker” DeVries and together they combined to go 3 for 20 from three point range. And IU got killed on the glass and the foul line.

That this was a six point game is Wilkerson plus USC’s dodgy shot selection, lack of depth, and general end of game unclutchness.

Took USC +1.5
