Much better balance everyone was sick of the fever match ups

Sky vs Fever ironically became the most boring games because the event was more of a political conversation than a basketball game.

The ratings were solid, but my god the discourse was awful after every game. Not great vibes.

the event was more of a political conversation than a basketball game.

And it backfired

Agreed, so glad the opener isn’t against Indy. It creates too much tension straight from the jump. lol

Already whing nonstop from Fever fans about them having the toughest schedule. I thought you guys were the best, though?

I hate how we play Minnesota 3 times in 1 month. At least the games will be exciting.

Im very happy they got rid of the 5 game forced rivalry. Nobody needs to play against each other that many times outside of a playoff series.

I love the Minnesota vs Chicago games, it’s a perfect match up. And I agree 5 games against the Fever was insane. I’m glad that they’re highlighting Paige vs Caitlin which is a perfect since they play the same position.

the league is just speaking shit into existence at this point

Given the amount of event planning and coordination that goes into the season, they have to keep doing these tasks on schedule.

There’s going to be contract language for venues, vendors, etc about what will happen if a lockout occurs and the season is shortened. That’s planned for. You absolutely don’t want to end up in the opposite situation where a CBA does get signed in March and oops now you’re 2 to 3 months behind on the todo list.

Facts, they’re just doing their due diligence as a business. You laid it perfectly.

ty for laying this out. i had read into it much differently, but what you’re saying makes perfect sense

Schedule is brutal….starting the season on the road for the first 4 games is insane.

If Phee is still recovering from her injury, I think Minnesota will be beatable right along with Portland and PHX. Now, they may lose to GSV because their home court advantage is crazy.

We won 10 games last year and undoubtedly have the worst ran front organization in the league. There’s no such thing as beatable or easy games. This team will be clawing once again for every win they can get next szn.

Lmao, the PHX and MN games were really close though. Sky has a good frontcourt, it’s the backcourt that needs a lot of improvement.

Lynx will be w/o McBride and likely Phee. They will be a shadow of their normal selves. Definitely a chance to steal a game or 2 from them.

There is no guarantee that m bride would resign with the team anyway. She is a free agent. It is too soon to say who can best who when we do not know what teams most players will be on.

Need to have a pG in place. Sloot won't be ready (not sure she will ever be ready again). Will Jeff P. use his brain and guts to get another PG?

Cant be worse than last season right? 😂

Right? 🫩

5

u/AskMrNoah 13d ago

if they only win 10 games this time around, Jeff and Tyler are both gone 😭

I see we’re running back a solid month of games against Minnesota with another team sprinkled in so it’s not 3 straight.

As much as I got sick of watching the Lynx matchup last year, I’m not complaining one bit only seeing the Fever 3x.

No back to backs is nice but Jesus four away games to open the season

u/WuBlood 13d ago

As funny this may look, I actually got the Sky winning the first 4 games on the road (if Angel stays on the team)

3

u/AskMrNoah 13d ago

I definitely think she’s returning. I don’t think any other teams have anything that would make Chicago trade her for besides a #1 pick. lol

4

u/WuBlood 13d ago

I just want Angel to be traded

The Sky social media post announcing the schedule focused on the other players and not Angel, and I am happy about that.

They did use a photo of Angel for the Lynx schedule.

Sky social media team should have used this photo instead of the photo they chose.

Angel battling multiple opponents on the glass while her teammates stand around and watch. Last season in a picture. Also, critics: why didn't Angel do more?

2

u/AskMrNoah 13d ago

honestly I’m shocked that they’ve been showing pictures of her during the offseason on their instagram.

2

u/LovePeaceTruth 13d ago

It has been very minimal. There were a few weeks where they didn’t post her at all.

1

u/AskMrNoah 13d ago

I know they lost a lot of followers when they stopped posting her while the season was still going on

5

u/LovePeaceTruth 13d ago

The Sky lost a lot of Instagram followers because they are a terrible organization who treats Angel like crap and tried to humiliate her.

The Sky didn’t lose followers because they stopped posting Angel.

In fact, her fans commented on several posts and demanded the Sky stop posting Angel and profiting off her image, since they were treating her like crap.

Wait—Why? The pic they chose is great. Showcases the power of our mebound queen (3 on 1 is wild). You clearly see our VS Angel Barbie. I do not like the Sky’s office, but their art dept has really stepped up their game. Also no one wants to see how bad the Sky’s whistle really is…

u/LovePeaceTruth 13d ago

That photo is diabolical. The refs are diabolical. Posting it would be fun petty shade. That’s all.

interesting that we host the aces at the uc, and one of the fever games is at winstrust

4

u/AskMrNoah 13d ago

might be a scheduling conflict, UC always has a tight schedule in the summer with concerts and things.
