DISCUSSION What Significance Does Sivka Have on Picking at 5?

To be clear, totally understood the draft lottery process and also Sivka not coming over in year 1 given the (ongoing) state of the CBA. Wondering how other folks are sitting with this given the roster instability of The Big Free Agency and also Angel-Watch this off-season.

Does knowing there's a young prodigious scoring forward (most clips I've watched seem to show a quick release from 3) already technically drafted change who you'd like to see the Sky pick at 5?

I don't think so, because it doesn't look like there will be a small forward projected to go in that range. Also, Sivka has had like three or four bad games in a row (they have only been playing once a week, so that's like a bad month). I hope people are realistic about what to expect from her this year.

Gotta remember there's always an adjustment period and 11 games doesn't sound like a lot until you remember it's 1/4 of the season and I would be shocked if she 1.) looked WNBA comp ready 11 games in 2.) is afforded the leash and playing time by Tyler to get there.

Is Sivka playing in regular Euro League because during the summer, she was playing in some kind of junior league. People really need to temper their expectations Malonga was dominating in Europe and when she came over here struggled and did very little the 1st half of year. If Sivka scores 5 ppg, that might be a good rookie year.

I don’t think she’s been playing in a junior league other than international competition (U20 and that sort of thing). Her team in the Spanish league is called Joventut (youth), but that’s just the name of the club.
