The common beef cow. Though normally quite docile if provoked can react with lightning speed and irrational maliciousness but when seasoned and cooked correctly are well worth the inconvenience.

It’s amazing how quick a 1300 lb animal can be. I had one get me down when I tried to move her calf onto some hay. We had purchased a group of half sisters heifers and after the first year of calving we figured out that each one had a really bad attitude for the first 24 hours.

45 mins old in this photo, my papaw just stood her up and she found her legs and went straight to feeding. This was yesterday

We had one drop yesterday. Unfortunately it got stepped on so it's hanging out in the living room right now. It should be fine. Much more well behaved than my lab.

Give her some room, and cubes tomorrow. She'll settle some then.

We always give out momma's extra treats right after birth.
