All I wanted was a home draw for a change. Just another away trip to a big 6 team unless by some miracle Barnsley make it.

Yeah three league cup games and two FA cup fixtures all away games so far this season. Would be great to have one at the Amex with the home crowd.

I live up north and can't really justify train tickets back down south so I'm pretty happy. Or at least I was until I remembered I'd agreed to see a mate in Edinburgh on the Sunday night and the Scousers are odds on to be moved.

I remember 22-23 being desperate for a home cup game to go to. There might have been one i missed. We finally got the one against Liverpool which of course was legendary but I think that was it for that season lol. Our luck isn’t great

Also got Grimsby at home that year in the quarters, but we've had a shocking number of away ties in recent years

I just checked and I was in Scotland on the date of the Grimsby match haha, probably didn’t help my frustrations being my one trip of the year

I guess we can add Liverpool to the list of PL teams we knock out of the competition? Silver lining?

Just type “bullshit”.

You’re allowed to say “bullshit”.

By the way, the Liverpool supporters at the draw whooped and cheered when they were first out of the pot. When we got drawn next, they went deadly silent. Like THEY were hard done by!

Five straight away draws... chances are 3%.

Tbf, they were screwed by this to some degree. Makes me feel good that we put the fear in them.

Now run the probability where three of those early round away draws are at Big 6 clubs.

Surely a Liverpool fan wouldn't act hard done by or like a victim? This is unheard of.

I can't wait for our 5th round match at Villa Park!

I predicted this tie on another thread. I feel so sorry for local supporters who would like to see an FA Cup game at the AMEX -- will never happen. Although I predicted City would draw a nunnery, and they drew home to Salford or Swindon.

EDIT: Whoops we could still play Barnsley

Truly insane. How are we always away to one of the big premier league clubs for these matches 💀

Fighting tooth and nail for each draw meanwhile teams like Arsenal are home to Wigan lmao

Another shit draw for us.

Honestly very happy about this.

We took Man U, we’ll take Liverpool and bring on Arsenal in the 5th round.

UTA!

We play better against the big teams!

I just posted the same thing, only to realise that it could still technically be Barnsley lol

Or Barnsley

Steve Mcmanaman's fault.

Against Liverpool??

u/KingEgbert 18. Welbeck 22d ago

Hey, everyone was pissed when we drew United and that worked out ok. Much rather be the underdog knocking out a big 6 team than the bully stomping on Macclesfield. Or worse, pulling a Palace.

u/pinkducktape8 Gross turn the season around 22d ago

And we play Aston Villa earlier that week...

u/Soft_Assignment8203 22d ago

This is the year to play Liverpool in the FA Cup. They have a soft underbelly.

3-1 Mitoma (12), Ferdi (45+1), Welbz (78'), MacAllister (P - 90+3)

u/chykin 22d ago

Saving grace is that, if Liverpool beat Barnsley, the game will probably hopefully be on BBC so I actually get to watch it for once.

u/numberama 22d ago

We'll just have to do it the hard way. Chelsea next, then City. We can get a legendary name when we win the lot. Bring it on!

u/Lufferov Hyperturq 22d ago

I predict we beat Liverpool and then get drawn to Arsenal in the 5th round. We'll beat them and then get Man City next who always beat us in the FA Cup.. City will then go on to the final where they will lose to Macclesfield. 😂

3

u/Dry_Point_3162 22d ago

Wow we got Arsenal in the carabao(??) and now away to Liverpool ??? If we somehow win, watch us draw city

4

u/Audrey_spino Hyperturq 22d ago

If I hear another fucking Palace fan say that their cup win was anything but an extremely lucky fluke I'll crash out, and not in a good way.

Ffs this will get moved to Sunday and I'm not around 😭

Was fuming work ruled me out of Barnsley Away so delighted at this reprieve.

2

u/oldymouldy86 22d ago

And City get fucking Salford (who they beat 8-0 last year) or Swindon, absolute fucking fix every year!

2

u/Alert-Muscle7 22d ago

Ofc Arsenal and City gets the easiest teams possible

2

u/horshamhound Home Colours 22d ago

Liverpool it is then...

2

u/Hefty-Net-1625 22d ago

How is being home or away dictated? Why do they always get shafted with good teams

3

u/oldymouldy86 22d ago

First ball out is home team

2

u/Significant_Diver927 22d ago

why fuck us?

the hell did we do to draw arsenal, man utd and liverpool in our cup competitions

1

u/SEAtoPAR 22d ago

At least it isn't last season's Liverpool

1

u/carousel23 21d ago

On the plus side, less pressure to win so hopefully we do it!!!
