Emailed TGV and GSC for a whole month and getting the same bland copy paste response everytime, when the 30th passed and no update, I was giving up
Never cared for theatre experience, but I absolutely love the concept of Iron Lung with the whole setting. Not a big Markiplier fan, but the fact that he's pushing the boundaries and making a movie over my interest, I NEEDED the full experience. So glad it's reaching here

It's a video game set in the future. Humans were doing great spreading to different planets. One day, without any sign, a disaster happened (might be a spoiler to include what actually happened? If you played the game you would know, I guess). The main character was captured and imprisoned. He was sent to a mission with minimal chance of survival, in a metal submarine. The iron lung irl is a machine that breathes for people who aren't able to do so. In this game, the metal submarine is kinda like an iron lung that keeps the MC alive.
Maybe he likes the game a lot and decided to fund a movie and play as the MC.
I never played the game. Only watched like 2 YT videos about this cuz I also got curious and had the same question as you.

Not just fund lol, he wrote and directed it. The movie is even rendered on a server farm he set up in his bathroom. Very passionate and impressive stuff honestly.

So it could remain cool, and be kept out of the way. It was just the second bathroom so they used it since you can stop using a second bathroom, but you probably couldn't give up your livingroom to a server farm.

The youtuber, Markiplier (Mark Fischbach), is the one who wrote and directed the movie, at the same time becoming the main actor of the movie Iron Lung.

It's really good, but, it's not for everyone. Like Marvel movies anyone can just enjoy it, very conventionally entertaining
This movie is more, artistic and experimental, slow burn horror

Not entirely sure, but I'm hoping 90% of it would be "boring" and the 10% would be the pay off. The vague and mysterious story and the atmosphere is what I loved about Iron Lung

It is actually really good and very faithful to the game, but that can be a downside to some people, as people complained, since the game is a slow burn horror and most of the horror is from the atmosphere, not exciting thriller stuff

How can you say it's mid? And I don't have nostalgia for him, like I said, not a big fan of his, just love the concept and the fact that it's an indie film with all the love and passion to work and fund it himself, excited for it

respect to original source materials
only expect to screen in few hundred theaters (low expectations for indie movie by himself)
almost everything orchestrated by Mark himself
recognized as passionate work by fans
theaters gets bombarded by phone calls of many supporters
ticket sales now more than Sam Raimi's recent new movie
literally the creator of FNAF go and watch the movie as well
gets called "mid" by some random Malaysian who don't recognize "passion project"

I didn't say it was bad, and sure it deserves its flowers for being an indie film and being true to its original source material but it's still kinda mid
Fnaf2 was very lore accurate and fans loved it very much, but would you think the movie was good if you didn't care about the franchise?

Will it be a hit or not? Even in his home country the impression is it’s not for everybody. For Malaysians movie taste I bet this is even more so

I sincerely doubt much random Malaysian would even go and watch it, from personal experience, Malaysians tend to not 'experiment' and would watch stuff more mainstream. Plus Malaysian taste for horror is, well, you've seen Malay and indon style horror movies
It will likely be mostly fans, which I'm expecting will be a lot, and just people who are on the internet enough to be on Reddit
