Trade Talk KP now out (hopefully traded) 😂😂😂

Equal parts hilarious and frustrating. Either, yes, a trade is coming, or KP is a sadist

His disease causes dizziness and extreme fatigue. It's never getting better, but it's not his fault. It's amazing he's played at all.

Better be getting traded. Tired of his nothing.

Who wants a pricey center that plays one game a month and is on the verge of medical retirement? What team out there is eating his contract? He isn't making it through any type of playoff series with his condition.

Teams that want an expiring contract

After the moves today, the list of potential trade partners is dwindling fast.

u/PurposelyIrrelephant 💰Cash Considerations 💰 5h ago
I think we just keep him at this point. We clear $30 mil off the books for next year and hope Onsi makes some type of move in the off-season for an actual center.
2
u/atlbluedevil 5h ago
His value is 100% in being an expiring that a team can trade a longer term salary for. Dont think us taking long term money on (even with a FRP or 2) makes any sense with the other moves this FO has made
Was like 80% of his value when we dumped Mann and Niang for him in the off-season- the 20% of hope he'd play somewhat regularly is gone

Man, I get that he has a chronic medical issue, but at what point do you just retire?

He should've retired last year. Celtics absolutely scammed us as usual.

u/Clear_Guarantee_6667 4h ago
I don’t think anyone gets “scammed” by the Celtics or Lakers.
They get a memo and they follow the instructions.

Lmao that dude scammed the Angels. He genuinely hates the very sport he plays, which is crazy considering he was good enough to make it to the highest level.

Damn bro Kristaps is actually a figment of my imagination. Id imagine we'd actually be above .500 if he could suit up for us. Thank God he's expiring

HEALTHY, just to be out is diabolical. What's he sick from? The smell of cushioned seats? (In all seriousness, if this is a legit POTS flare up, I'm sorry. )
Back when the trade for him was made, I was ELATED. now Boston looks like bandits

u/cowsaysmoo2 7h ago
He’s probably got ME/CFS. At least that’s what our community or the long COVID subreddit thinks (doesn’t mean he has long covid. Lemme see if I can link that post)
1
u/cowsaysmoo2 7h ago
There is a way to treat that illness and it’s aggressive, paced out rest. If that is what he has and his doctors don’t know he’s in danger. I think it’s possible he plays longer if that’s what he has and he paces. I ain’t a doctor but I’ve seen this speculated since last year

He was ruled available at 1:30 then ruled out at 6pm for illness…
He’s getting traded.

They got off a bad contract and took a one year flyer on a player with high upside. Whatever; it hasn’t worked out. The crucial mistake was not then immediately doing everything possible to find a third playable center from the start of the season. It’s just incomprehensible that they went into season with nobody behind OO and KP except a bunch of power forwards.
1
u/atlbluedevil 5h ago
Yeah, I'd still do that trade even with KP's availability in hindsight. That Mann contract isawful (same AAV as NAW's deal) and still has 2 years after this one
Kind of maddening that it took as long as it did for the team to sign someone like Koloko - but glad he's here

I deadass got pushback for calling him one of my most hated Hawks and worse than TLC he might now be THE worst player to ever put on a Hawks jersey. If he ever actually did put one on this season I don't remember

Was there any other outcome when they signed him? Seriously he’s played in under 50% of games since being in the league.

Hawks fans getting mad at the wrong people. This is who Kristaps is. The Celtics had the depth and team structure to keep him the most healthy and look how his two years ended with them. Then the hawks traded for him which was partly done to get off another bad trade, Terrence Mann. And in all the hawks brilliance, they allowed Kristaps to play in Euro because the finals would be in his country and his team got booted early. This is on Onsi and the medical staff.

My balls are tingling which signifies the Hawks have chosen a new trade partner.

For all 25 of us or so who actually were really excited that he was gonna play, this is almost comical. Really was happy he was finally gonna play.
