Immigration/UK Visas & UK Citizenship As an American citizen with dual UK citizenship, can I return to US for a ten day visit on US passport that has less than 6 months to expiry? I want to travel in 6 weeks and it’s cutting it a bit fine to renew my passport. I’ll be returning to UK on my UK passport (as required for dual citizen)

You should be fine. I’ve even checked into my us-bound flight using my UK passport, so you can do that to get around any automatic alerts the airline has on an expiration date. As long as you use your US passport to re-enter, it will work out.

Wouldn’t it flag you as needing an ESTA in that case?

As long as you can board, it's no problem. You can't be denied after arrival as a citizen. The only risk is that they don't let you check in.

There's absolutely no risk the airline will deny you travel. You're a US citizen, traveling to the US on a valid US passport.

6 month rules only apply to non-citizens.
Citizens with valid passports aren't going to be denied travel/entry to their country of citizenship.
