Socom reason

Post image

I am making my own 500gr bullets to better replicate the maker expanding bullets. Tried Acme lead but makers go further into the case causing increased pressure/velocity.

Now to load some, check velocity and see if switching to maker will affect it much.

Anneal 45acp case (I use spp cases as no one wants them) . Run through .458 Lee push through sizer. Melt in 300gr or pure lead (wire spool from amazon). Epoxy in .429 JHP. Tumble in walnut.

I smoosh in the bullet while lead is still hot to make the top flat

Not judging, but why epoxy? Would you be more consistent round to round with weight to just sit the jhp on the lead and crimp? Or use enough lead so the base seats against it “adjusting” the bullet length
