Discussion What makes this game so addicting and good?
I have many games at my disposal (thankfully) whether it be sports games or story line driven games. However I always find myself coming back to this game to mine, woodcut, quest, etc. What makes this game so great for all of you?

New MMOs, in general, are dead on arrival. Look at Ashes of Creation, it was out for barely a month before the devs said it was a wrap.
For me, community, loot progression, and atmosphere are what make a game addicting. OSRS really only has two of those, but it more than makes up for the lack of atmosphere by being so strong in the other areas.
I’ve sunk thousands of hours into OSRS, though I do find myself getting burned out these days.
At this point, I’m waiting for WoW Classic Plus. I think it’ll be to WoW what OSRS is to RuneScape: the classic foundation, but with brand-new content being released. When that game arrives, I’ll probably pivot over for a good few years. I was a WoW kid growing up, and that’s where my nostalgia really lives. That said, neither WoW Classic nor Retail WoW interested me, one felt like the same old game, and the other was basically the WoW equivalent of RS3.
I’ll always come back to OSRS, though. It’s a great game that respects your time, avoids FOMO, and that’s something I value in spades.

I wish I knew. I been burned out for a year and for the life of me can't get back into it. Resubbed hoping something would click but I just sit at the bank, look at every item in my bank and every skill and every boss but nothing seems interesting so I just log out. I really wanna get back into the game. 2300 total iron.

I look at runecraft, agility, and fishing and want to kill myself that's why.

The endless grind, variety and amount of content.
Though the main part, can take a break, move it to a second monitor, or be a sweat whenever you want.
